thatguy2007 | Is it bad to charge items on a new credit card and then pay the bill the next day? |
I just got a card that is issued to people considered "high-risk". I do not need the card, but I am trying to help my credit score, etc. What is the best way to treat this situation? Should I charge an item worth a decent amoutn (ie, groceries, etc.) and pay it off the next day - or does the company view that as bad? thanks |

The company will make less money on you, but it will be awesome for your credit. To top it off, they cannot do anything about it - pay on time and you win.
I am going through the credit review process now as I have to buy a house, and three mortgage lenders told me that one reason my credit is so good is because I always pay my cards on time and never carry a balance. Go for it - you are on the right path. |

That actually doesn't help your credit score. Wait until you get the bill, then pay it off. That will help. |

Wait till you get the statement, then pay the account in full. Some credit cards do not want you to make multiple payments each month. Besides, paying the day after you make the charge, really does nothing for your credit score.
Credit card companies only report whether you pay on time or not. Just make sure you always pay on time -- and pay in full to stay out of debt and save the interest. |

Pay off your balance every month, period. Its the only way to improve your score. Best to pay when the monthly bill is mailed to your residence, because it's convenient for the company. |

The best way to build credit is to keep a ballance for 6 or so months that is less than 1/3 of the limit on the card. It is a good idea to always pay off American Express cards each month as most of them have to be paid in full each month. It is also a good idea to put aside the money to completely pay off all your credit card debt at any given time. You will sleep very well and get better credit offers too. If you do not need the card from a high risk lender then do not use it. And last but not least NEVER BUY CONSUMABLE GOODS ON CREDIT!!!! Ec Nobody |

no, that how you build your credit score..good job, just do NOT EVER HAVE A BALANCE ON YOUR CREDIT CARD....it's actually okay to go to the next pay cycle, but if you want to send it in, by all means DO! That only assures YOU that you won't have a balance when it comes due at the end of the month and you for some reason can't pay it....

Doing it the next day will NOT help your credit.
This simply tells your creditor that you had the funds already....it does not signify any real progress of risk credibility.
pay it off at the end of the month. |

The company will think it's bad because they lose the interest. To heck with them if you have the ability to payoff the balance every month ... do it. Many people do. |

Although your line of credit is considered in with your score, paying it is what makes your credit better. stay in the habit of paying it off quickly and not letting it build up. You'll be happier in the long run |

that is the only way ive ever used my credit card (well, not next day, but the day it shows up as a balance on internet banking) and when i went to get a mortage my credit rating was great (or so says my broker) and i got a great deal. so i think its fine. im sure they dont like it themselves, but its great for you. |

Pay off any charges you make for the month in full when the statement comes. Be sure to pay it on time and you will be fine.
Using the card and making payments on time establishes your responsibility and reputation. |

Every time my dad makes a charge on his credit card he takes the receipt home, writes out a check for that amount and pins it to his bill board until the bill comes in the mail, that way he always makes sure that he has the money for that bill, and his credit card doesn't keep stacking up. He builds his credit up with the purchases but pays it off right away so he doesn't forget about it. |
