Is it bad to have four credit cards?

To "have" no. To use each to its limit "yes". If you use each sparingly and don't carry a large balance on them they can actually be beneficial in improving your credit score. GOOD QUESTION

There is nothing wrong with having 4 credit cards. I had 14 at one time.

How many credit cards you have makes no difference. What matters is how you manage them and how low you keep your balances.

As long as you pay on time and keep your balances below 30% of your credit limit you will be fine.

Actually to have the best credit profile, you need at least 3 revolving lines of credit (credit cards) and 2 installment lines of credit like cars, homes, boats, furnature or personal loans all with good long pay historys.

?
I've always liked more than one credit card due to the varying interest rates and rebates and other perks of a particular card, but I discovered lately that an increased number of credit cards, regardless of the balance on your account - even if you have no balance at all on one or more cards - negatively affects your credit rating, so, if you don't use all four, or if you can drop one or two, you might be doing yourself a "credit-rating-favor" if you do so. God Bless you.

if u are making payments on time no.. but if its hard for u to keep up with your payments yes..

There are a few advantages to having several cards as long as you can pay the balances at the end of most months. First make sure that all of the cards give you some sort of reward dollars or points. All of them occasionally offer bonus points if you purchase items in a certain category. That is the time you use that card. You can earn free vacations, free gas, or even cash. Another advantage is when you have a month where you can't pay all the bills, many times credit card companies will offer lower interest rates for transferring a balance to their card. If your credit is good, some companies still offer even 0% interest for several months. It's usually 3.9% or 4.9% however.

It depends. If you use them wisely it can be great for your credit score and history. If you have no control over your spending habits then having several cards is a bad thing because you will get into serious debt.

Mustbe
Yes you need only one...
That's my personal opinion.

nope..if u dont use them

Depends on your idea of "bad".... if you are trying to be debt free and not have any outstanding debt, the number of cards you need is Zero. The interest rate will catch up to all your cards and keeping them would be insane. Pay them off fast and cut them up. Keep 1 for emergencies only.
