Is it bad to not pay your credit card bill off in full every month when you have 0% apr?
I've had my first credit card for two months now. I have 0% APR until October 08. I only have a $2XX balance on it, and the minimum payments are only $15 a month. Last month, I paid them $40 and this month I'm going to try and pay it off in full, but if I don't, is that bad for my credit?

Thankss

if its 0% just pay minimum but be careful that it is 0% there is probably some clause or something thatll catch you out. THEY ARE SHARKS.
it wont hurt your credit as long as you make minimum payment. if the account isnt in default then no problemo

Not at all. It's bad if you miss a payment. It is also bad if you have over half of your available credit used and not paid off. You're doing good.

No. As long as you pay the min. your account is in good standing and there is no interest to pay. But usually if you fail to make the min.payment then that 0% expires so be careful and I wouldn't put it past them to charge all of the back interest to you if it isn't paid in full by the end of the intro period.

i heard from financial savy ppl that if u have zero balance that could be not good. but if u can pay it off i would do it b4 Oct.

As long as you make at least the minimum payment and don't max out the card, your credit will be fine.

It is always a good idea not to carry balances on your credit cards, even if you have a 0 interest. It's too easy to rack up big debt. Also, special interest rates have limited time frames and just about anything can cause interest rates to increase.

heatherlynn822
This will still have a negative effect on your credit score, so it's really not the best thing to do.

Ted
I pay off my cards every month and I have great credit. The company only reports your balance at the end of the statement period. The report has no way of showing how much, if any, was balance carried if any, and what was new charges.

Ryan
Is it bad? Well it may encourage you to spend more than you can afford, so in that sense it is. As far as how it will effect your credit score. Anytime you carry a balance that is greater than 50% of your credit limit it will ding your score. To improve your score you should use no more than 30% of your credit limit. Short answer- pay it off while you can.

donnag085
Not sure but I've heard that it hurts your credit by not paying off your credit cards monthly.
