I've never been carded at gas stations except when I bought cigs. A friend gave me his debit card once because he didn't want to get out of my car, lol, and nope they didn't card me and I was buying soda for us both. Just take your id and go. My mom once gave me her credit card to go shopping at Old Navy, they asked for id so I gave it to them, and I said they could call her, but they didn't do that, they just let me pay with it and go. |

No, because the card is signed to her and not you. It could be considered credit card fraud. |

NO NO NO! Cards are only allowed to be used by the card holder - anything else is against the card issuers terms and conditions and possibly illegal! |

It depends on the store. Technically its illegal to use any card (debit or credit) unless the card is in your name. Your mother, can get an additional card, off her account, in your name if she wants. Most credit card companies & banks offer this as some kids do use parents cards (away at college, etc).
If the store asks for ID, they may refuse the sale since your name is not the same as mothers. However, some stores dont ask for ID. If your mother is giving you permission to use her card to buy something, maybe just visit the ATM first, w/d cash for your purchase (with pin number she gives you) and then make the purchase. |

if you know the pin you shouldn't have to show a license, but you might want to get money from an atm instead then you won't have to worry about interacting with a person at the register. of course in general you shouldn't use someone else's card unless they are around; i recommend getting cash from an atm first. |

as long as yu know the PIN then there shouldn't be a problem b/c they probably assume it is your card.... but if you are asked for i.d. they may cancel the sale. Identity theft and debit/credit card fraud is such a problem that companies do not want to be sued for allwoing transactions by someone who does not own the card. |

It is not illegal if you have permission. The 7-11 should also have an atm in the store you could use or even go to a bank that has one close to you. There will be an atm fee surcharge and a fee from your bank. Yes, most 7-11 does check ids. |

If they ask for it. If you know the PIN number (four digit "secret code") then they may not ask for any ID. It also can depend on the store and its policies. |

I work in retail and I ask for ID for ALL forms of plastic...credit or debit. But as long as you know the PIN you're good to go 99% of the time...I just ask for ID because my idiotic machinge sometimes skips the debit question and puts it as a credit charge. So I just ask as a preventative so my back is covered if the machine goes nuts on me. Because if the signaures don't match, I can get burned. |

Actually, it's getting a lot harder to use someone Else's credit card at a store, but online, all you need are the numbers. |

No, they won't ask usually. And if they do, you can. They won't ask unless it's an unsually high cost. |
