Not unless you initiate the purchase or transaction - meaning you have contacted them... and if on-line, only over secure sites with companies you TRUST. |

I don't think you finished your question. Give your credit card number to who? |

If you are paying a bill online then woudl say it is ok. If it is a secure site and a big name company like Ebay, Paypal, Any Bank, Qwest, ect then would do it. If you feel like you are unsafe or are nto comfortable with it then just don't do it. |

it depends on who you give your credit card number to. if somebody calls you on the phone saying you won something and they need your credit card number to confirm who you are, then you made a bad choice in telling them my friend. |

Give it to who? Online merchants? Be very very very careful. Make sure the site you are going to shop with is secure. Check around on their site for a Contact Us tab. Click on it. Look for a phone number. Call it. See if you can talk with a live person. If the only way to contact them is through an e-mail address, I would avoid them.
I usually only online shop with known name places such as Target, KC Penney, etc. Anybody else I check out before I place an order. |

Yes, and the last 3 numbers (4 if you have AE) on the back of your card, they are your CCV and by giving them out you are protecting yourself. |

really depends who. Explain the situation better. Is it to family or is it online. What? |

to who? I wouldn't give it to anybody (not even family members and friends!) unless I'm online on a secure site. If the credit card company calls you and asks for your number (or any of your information) to verify, it's probably a scam. Hang up and call the credit card company yourself (use the number on your reports, not what they give you over the phone, just in case it's a trap) and ask if they were trying to contact you. |

Well, I guess to your spouse or your parent. But anybody else-no. Unless you have a kid, and they're looking at your card and is on the phone ordering pizza. I do that sometimes with my parents' consent. |

ive been asked to give my credit card details so i can cancel a subscription that isl taking money from my bank account each month.
I initiated the subscription nearly a year ago but cant remember what my username, password or email account i used in the first place, so in order to stop them taking money from me i must give them my details so they can delete my account with them & halt the tansactions. sound genuine to you?... Im unsure hence why im asking & I cant afford the debits as they are |
