if your car has equity, you can refinance it. You can also go to a cash place and get a loan, but they require you to repay it within a month or so. |

ok, some brisk advice...why do you need the money? 2000 can't buy much. Are you doing it to make ends meet? if so, ask some hard questions about your day to day budget. Understand with a FICO (credit) score of 490, you're not going to get anything more than a payday loan at rates that will kill you. Take a step back and examine the budget. Other things you can do are reducing your tax withholding for a while and cutting back on expenses...(oh, and don't take that payday loan if you can, it's about as good as a loan shark)

Here's a suggestion. Stay away from debt. Get a second or third job if needed. Save money and buy with cash. The borrower is slave to the lender. |

If you do not have collateral, go for an unsecured personal loan, which is rare for people with bad credit. It is necessary that your credit record should be clean for an unsecured personal loan. However, some lenders can accept your case due to inevitable reasons. |

However, some institutions may approve bad credit bank loan. Keep in mind that they may charge you a higher interest rate. If you have bad credit or poor credit history, you may have trouble convincing lenders to approve your loans.

As lola said, you may need someone with better credit to cosign. Stay away from the payday loan places; even taking a cash advance on a credit card is better than what they charge. If it'll be a few weeks before you need the money, you might be able to get a loan through prosper.com, although you can expect to pay a fairly high interest rate (though not as bad as with the loan sharks) |
