Be sure you have all the money in the account before the purchase and those funds must be available without holds. Bank might pay, but you'll pay overdraft charges if drawn on uncollected funds.
This issue is the bane of my customers existence that just can't figure this out.
Don't use it anywhere you don't 100% trust. You are protected from unauthorized charges, but your money can be tied up in the meantime while the claim is filed and worked, usually for days, sometimes weeks, and in extreme cases for months.
I am a bank branch manager and would NEVER have a checkcard. |

Most places do, the only places I have ran into that dont are car rental places. That was in Reno, NV so I dont know if that was exclusive to them, or what, but I had to use a real CC. |

as long as your debit card is a visa or MasterCard it works the same way.
just remember the money comes out of your checking account, you don't get a bill with min payments! |

As long as it has a VISA or Mastercard symbol or something like that on it you can, otherwise no. |

Yes, with the logo on the card you can use it as both the only difference is as a debit or pin transaction the retailer makes more money from the bank, If you use it as a credit and sign the bank makes more money from the retailer that is why banks ask you to use it as a credit and even offer promotions on it. Hope this helps! |

Yes if it has the Visa/Mastercard symbol on it. But you have to have the funds in the checking account or it will not go through.
