It's 100% safe as long as you don't send the item until you've cashed the money order. You might turn some buyers off by doing that though. Who wants to be hassled by paying with a money order--you have to go to the store, post office, bank, etc to get it. People shop online because of convenience, click and buy. Now they click, buy, get money order, mail it, wait for it to get to you, wait for you to cash it, wait for their item to arrive. |

It's safe. Just wait for your payment before you ship anything. |

Sure, it's safe. Just say "Money Orders Only" when you list the item. |

the thing about money orders is that people FORGE them all the time. id have to cash the money order and make sure it was real before i even thought of releasing the goods. if you deposit the money order and it turns out to be forged, the transaction will be reversed by who ever accepts the deposit. same thing if you cash it. why cant you have your own checking account for the loot to go to? are you too young? didnt think that was possible.... |

If you tell them that it must be a postal money order, then you're probably ok. I wouldn't accept any other kind. |

Money orders can be counterfit, even Postal money orders. Do yourself a favor. Ask your dad for the money. It's safer. |

Well if it's a special circumstance like this, then yes request money order or check and make sure the buyer KNOWS that is how he is to pay, put it in LARGE print....and communicate to the buyer after purchase...I personally will not buy anything unless they do accept pay pal, but who knows maybe the buyer won't care. |

YES.
Just make sure you receive the money order and it's GOOD before shipping. Also- NEVER ship to an unconfirmed address. The buyer could turn around and say they never received it and it would be YOUR fault because you shipped to an unconfirmed address. This is a common rip off.......... |

the money will not go to your dads credit card. you can have paypal mail you a check. however, money orders can be faked very easily. |

yea money orders are O.K. on ebay however you personally have to have a bank account to cash the check.
good luck ebay is full off as*holes! |

No! Alot of money orders look real but may be fake! stick with paypal! It may be a hassle asking your dad for the money, but safe. |

yes, but make sure it's good before you ship anything. your bank can take there time (after accepting it) to figure out it's bogus and reclaim the money that "was" in your account. the best is a USPS money order, you can cash it at the post office and be sure you're all set! |

it is safe you just wait until the moner order clears before you ship the item but make sure you state that you are going to do it that way in the auction |

Yes, I've been selling on ebay for many years and it's very safe to accept money orders. That's all some people will do. |

It is safe, but not popular. I buy through PayPal because it is safe and mostly, convenient. No trip to the P.O. no money order charge, no extra waiting for mdse. |

money order is always 100% safer but slower. Paypal is great, I have never had any trouble with them at all. Id say you are safe either way, depends on how fast you need the money. |

Miss I was a Power Seller. Do not accept money orders you will have spider webs hanging off of yourself before they will pay. Stay with pay pal and credit card purchases only.Never ship until the funds are in your pay pal account and you have withdrawn them. At that time ship within forty eight hours. |

no. theres a huge scam they can do. they could open a bank account, write the check, and then close the account before you get the check, i have had this done to me in the past and it sucks. also paypal is much quicker and safer |

It is safe but not safe if it gets lost, but of course on PayPal it is way safer and I prefer PayPal and you can always ask your dad for his opinion too. That is the safest way.
Good luck!! |

Yes, but eBay says more buyers tend to bid on items when Paypal is offered as a form of payment. It protects the buyer and the seller. |

could be but it's all about your preference and which method you prefer. I'd prefer to receive a money order because I could have cash in my hands rather than virtual money on good at certain virtual stores with the potential of someone hacking into my account and stealing my money. |

just remember that money orders can be counterfeited. people can be very clever at this, and a situation where you buy stuff online is especially vulnerable. so if you do this, don't send the product to them until the money order has passed the clearinghouse of your bank. |

Yeah, but it takes longer. Make sure the MO is from a trusty source, such as the US Post Office. |
