DO NOT confuse this web sight with freecreditreport.com

Yes visit www.annualcreditreport.com You can get one free report from each of the major reporting agencies. (only one per year) Check them one at a time every four months to stay current and informed. You can also use a number of pay services to monitor your credit if you so desire.

It's pretty safe if you have a good firewall on your computer.

Be sure to run your virus protection and spyware a bit more often if you go into sensitive areas.

As an added precaution, I always delete the temp files and close the window after checking sensitive sites.

Nothing is a sure guarantee though. In my opinion, if you run as much protection as you can on your puty, it's pretty much the same risk as with dealing the postal system.

I actually just got a Washington Mutual Creditcard and with that card I can get onto their website and view my credit whenever I want. No fees with the card and not fees for online banking. It's great!!!!

For all of you who have answered this question. A FIREWALL does not stop information from transmitting through the internet, only to your computer. Spyware does not have affect of this either.... IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING CONFIDENTIAL YOU ARE GOING TO SHOW ON A COMPUTER... the url or web address should be showing HTTPS:// instead of HTTP:// - https means hyper text transfer protocol secure which is a secure connection between your computer and the server your information is coming from. A firewall is designed to stop bad information from entering your computer, not reading your computer. If i had few information about your computer, I can still get past your firewall :)

As long as your computer is free from certain spyware and/or it doesn't have a virus you should be fine.

As long as you are on a secure web site. Ensure that the address is https://www. If it does not have the (s) it is not a secure web site.
