I too had no credit and then I received a capital one offer in the mail for a credit card and went online and filled out an application and I was approved. So you can get a credit card even though you have no previous credit, because I did. |

Beware of credit cards...even though you get one!
Pay off the baalance along with the interest as soon as you use the card!
Else credit card companies rip you off with charges!
So beware! And use the credit card wisely! pay off whole balance along with interest as soon as thge card is used!
Cheers! |

yes but the limit will be very small. like 200 dollars or so. usually capital one will give you a card. |

yes, you can go n-line to capitol one then follow the insructions, be beware, you can get yourself into a lot of debt with a credi card, so pay it off as soon as you get it. |

Umm lets see, i was in the same situation and i needed something so i could eventually get a new car and a house, but i had no credit. My boyfriend advised Best Buy, so that is one option. I got one at Maurice's, it is a clothing store, not sure if they have one where you live, but a few other good options are 1.)if you have a bank or your parents' bank, you can get a general credit card with a small limit and they usually always approve it. 2.) you can take out a small loan at your bank or any bank and pay it on time every month and that is a big one to build credit. 3.) If you have a car or cell phone or insurance for you and it is in your parents name, then get them to put you as a primary on the account and them as the co-signer, i think that is how it works, if not just get them to put your name somewhere on the account and it will slowly work towards your approval, not so much credit, but it will help you get approved for a card! Good Luck, it can be very frustrating, but it will get easier. Oh and main thing, do NOT apply for a bunch of cards, because every time you apply, even if you get denied it takes points off your credit. Ok well good luck! |

Try starting with department stores and with a low limit.. say less than $100. Try JC Penny, American Eagle, Best Buy ect.
This will help you two fold. One it doesnt let you aquire a huge debt by overspending. And two, it goes on your credit report.
Remember each month goes on your credit report, so if you dont make a payment even one month, they will see.
Be careful and good luck!! |

A secured credit card is the best way to go. You put up a security deposit of $500 to the bank. The bank issues you a credit card with a $500 limit. Once you've made regular payments and built up your credit, the bank will release your deposit.
The bank doesn't really trust you since you have no credit. They ask for this secured deposit to protect them from a loss in case you don't pay. Once you establish your credit, the bank sees you as less of a risk and releases your security deposit.
Another option could be finding one of those banks that specialize in no credit or bad credit lending but I wouldn't recommend that. These banks charge rates that are high and fees that are excessive. If you fall behind once, its hard to catch up with these banks and it will ruin your credit. |
