You can go to https://www.annualcreditreport.com for 1 free credit report every 12 months from each of the three credit bureaus. They give you the report for free, but you have to pay like $5 for the score. |

Assuming you're in the US (and with a name like cincy_george, I have to assume you are), you can go to the site listed below for you government-mandated, once-a-year, no fee, no-strings-attached credit REPORT from each of the three major reporting agencies. I would recommend you get just one agency's report every four months. That way, you can keep tabs on your report throughout the year.
Your credit SCORE is calculated using a proprietary formula developed by Fair, Isaac and Co. (FICO). For this, you'll need to pay, but you can get it at the same site for a small fee (I think it's around $10).
And BTW - requesting your OWN report will have no effect whatsoever on your score. It's only when OTHERS request your report (like, when you're applying for a loan or credit) that your score will be affected. |

These are the 3 creditors that companies use to check you credit score. Each website provides information on situations where you can obtain a free credit report. For example, it you have reason to believe you are at risk for fraud, you can put a fraud alert on your credit and automatically recieve a free report. I hope this helps. |

You can pull your credit report for free once a year (I don't believe you need a credit card). If you do it more than this, not only do you have to pay, but it actually effects your credit negatively.
To get your actual score, there is a small fee. However, this site is safe to use, and the above rules are true for this site. If you are worried about using your credit card over the internet, this one is secure, and recommended by bankers. I cannot say the same for any other sites that pull your score.

The credit reporting agencies are now required by law to provide a copy of your credit report to you for free (once per year for each of the 3 major agencies). The site below will lead you to the free credit reports. I got mine through here a few months ago. I had to register at some of the sites, but it was free - no credit card needed. You can also request your free report via phone or mail, but it will obviously take some time for the report to get to you. If you do it online, you have immediate access. |

go to www.experian/feestate I think that will get you there. if not, just go to the experian website and there is something on that site that you can register for free. I've done it before, it's totally free...no catch, no credit card info required. You can see everything and even file disputes, etc.. |
