Is there a way to check your credit score for free?
I want to know my credit score, but I don't want to pay for it or give my credit card number to some company for a free trial.
Additional Details
I SAID IS THERE A COMPANY THAT DOESN'T MAKE YOU GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD FOR A FREE TRIAL!!!

freecreditreport.com makes you give your credit card number, then you have to call and cancel with some chink operator who just tries to talk you out of it for 30 minutes, no thanks.

The truth is that you can obtain a free credit report from each of the 3 bureaus annually. The keyword here is "report" not "score". If you actually want your credit score you'll likely have to pay.

There are a bunch of online options, but you have to be a little cautious because not all are free and many will continue to harass you via email after signing up.

You are entitled to a free credit report (I believe from each of the 3 agencies) once per year. Just look on Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax's websites for info on getting yours

Or if you've been denied credit from anyone who ran your credit through one of the agencies you should have info included on the denial explaining how to receive a copy of the report they were given from the agency along with contact info.

There isn't a way to get a FREE credit SCORE, on reports and they only list your history not your your score. If you have a friend that works at a loan business or a bank they can pull it, but there will be a hit on your report.

You can purchase just your score buy calling the credit reporting companies toll free number directly. You can even request your free credit report by calling the number as well.

You can get your credit REPORT for free. The only way to get the score is to either buy it...or http://www.freecreditreport.com/ . They DO require you to enter a CC #...but as long as you CANCEL within 7 days, they DON'T charge you. I used to do this once or twice a year...but then recently, I accidentally forgot to cancel, but I just kept it. For $15 a month they monitor your credit, and I can view an updated report and score anytime I want.

You could also try applying for a mortgage, they run a report then and give you a copy...LOL. Probably not the most feasible option.

If you just want a report, though...http://www.annualcreditreport.com/ you are entitled to 1 free credit report a year for each of the 3 companies.

Just to confirm, since there's some good and bad advice above, it's the "report" that's available for free, and that site is indeed annualcreditreport.com. I would not recommend using the "free" site so many suggested above, as they make their money on people who forget to cancel. If you want to get your actual score (and you really should do this once if you're anticipating a home purchase or something), you'll have to buy it from the people who produce them, Fair Isaac Corporation. The cost is $15.95, and the page is linked below.

www.freecreditreport.com

they will give you a mailing address to the 3 major credit reporting companies. just send them a letter with the info they require and you will get your free credit report. you are supposed to get 1 free each year but you have to request it.

Yup. The credit bureaus are legally obligated to give you your credit score on demand. If you're in Canada, that's TransUnion and Equifax. Find them both to find out how to obtain your credit rating. I don't know what it is anywhere else, but look for your country's credit bureau. Good luck!

I think that the going way to get this done is to do a free 30 day trial at a credit check company. Use a card with a low limit if you're skeptical.
