Only if you have a bank account. However, one of your parents would have to be on the account with you as custodian as you are not old enough to sign a contract. |

Debit cards have to be linked to a bank account and since most banks won't open an account for anyone under the age of 18, you'll have trouble getting one. Why not ask your parents if you can set up some kind of account with them. Then they can buy you those pre-paid Visa credit cards as a way to teach you how to use your money. If you approach your parents from the angle that you're trying to learn to be responsible with money, not just have money to spend when you feel like it, they may be willing to help. |

There are prepaid debit cards out there, but you'd have to get your parents to set it up, but why would you need one at that age? Try doing chores for money around the neighborhood, you'd be surprized about how much people will pay just to get a few chores out of the way (mow lawns, grocery shop, babysit, trim bushes, etc. ) |
