i bought a couch from rooms to go with the same exact plan. it was no interest and no payments. you will still receive statements so that you can make payments which is very wise to do. pay it off within the 12 months at no interest, or pay as much as you can before they tack on interest.

it shouldn't accrue interest. you need to read the fine print. i read my fine print and it explained what no interest and no payments meant. it also explained different plans. i didn't accrue interest in the time period that i had no payments and no interest. they shouldn't start tacking on interest until it is time to start paying for the tv.

Not hidden fees, but you have to pay it off after that twelve months is up, and the interest by that time may be sky high. You need to read the fine print after your "free" twelve months. If I was you, I'd start paying it off NOW at no interest.

Yesssssssssssss!!!!!!! don't buy what ever you want. Stop turn around and walk away. If you walk in with cash you can wheel and deal. I have paid off bills for less. Listen to Dave Ramsey. www.daveramsey.com check out his radio show, people have messed up their lives on buy now pay later.
If you do go and get what ever this is pay it off asap. After 12 months you not only have interest, but back interest from the the last 12 months.

that depends, what would the interest rate be after the 12 months if you do not have it paid off by then? Read the terms of the credit card prior to applying.

Please look over the Cardholder Agreement. You can ask to get that from Sears prior to getting a credit card. Call your Sears store next to you and ask for the credit department. They can send you the application as well as the terms and conditions. Make sure if you do get it, don't be late, it will damage your credit, cost you high fees and charges. Keep you balance to 30% of the credit limit. If you want to pay your charge off and save thousands of dollars in interest, pay the charge card as if it were an installment debt versus a revolving line of credit. There are no up-front hidden fees. However, you usually give up any rebates that may be offered. In addition, the fine print says if you do not pay off the entire balance within the 12 months, the full amount of interest is tacked on - starting from the beginning, not the 12 months. So, if you go this route, make sure you pay within 12 months (I suggest paying within 10 or 11).

Go to walmart. You'll get the same tv there for 1/3 the price.

Also, sears may be close to bankruptcy. Last week they got Junk status by a rating company. Your warranty will be void if that happens.

First, stay in the $300.00 area. You don't need a big screen TV, especially in these bad economic times. You could be out of a job without any notice tomorrow, and don't think that by this time next year, you'll be better off, it doesn't happen, believe me. Put money into savings. You'll be paying big bucks after the year is up!!!!!! You think you are earning enough to be able to pay it off in a year, but, please, don't get into debt. Big TV's are Big Toys and are a low income person's doom on getting ahead. Reign yourself in, it's a BIG BAD Idea to buy an expensive TV.
You need to ASK if there is any fees added to the fee that you would pay each month. Don't take the in-store salesperson's word on it. Call the number of the credit card company. I didn't realize that there was an automatic $50.00 /mth. fee on my loan. And, no matter what they say, you need to pay the minimal fee plus the amount of interest fee each month and not think you don't have to pay anything. You need to open every bit of mail you get, because you could be looking for your Sears account, and not open up the actual payment because the envelop didn't say "Sears" on it. You need to open every bit of mail you get from any credit card company to make sure they are not charging extra fees automatically unless you sign the form saying you don't want it. I don't know of anybody that owned a big screen TV and didn't have trouble with them.

first of all, you must be approved for the card, at an amount that is enough to cover the cost of the TV. in these days, lending institutions are more stringent with credit limits and approvals than they were before, so hopefully you have good credit.

if you do get approved, the deal is no scam. the catch is that Sears and their financing company are banking on the fact that many people will not pay off the TV before the 12 months is up. if that happens, you get hit with all the back interest from day 1 to 365, which can be a substantial amount. this is the fine print that a lot of consumers don't read when they sign up for no interest financing deals.

a general rule of thumb is to 1. have good credit. this means don't sign up for every store card all over town simply to get your hands on good deals. having too many credit cards and inquiries hurts your credit. 2. whatever the amount of the appliance is, and if it's a 12 month no interest period, divide it by 9. if you can easily afford the payments, than go for it. if you can't, or you'll have to scrape money together every month, don't do it. notice i say, by 9, not 12. that is because you want to give yourself a cushion for months when you don't have as much money.
