only if you get a co-signer. start off by getting a prepaid credit card and only spend about 1/3 of the balance. pay it out over three months and you should get a boost in your credit rating. you will soon be able to get credit cards with thousands as the limit

Reality Check
For those who are saying "prosper.com"...you need to read the FAQ's of the site. They do not accept applicants who have LESS THAN A 520 score.

This person has a score in the 400's. The site will not allow him/her to register.

pYour credit history isn't all that important when it comes to lenders as long as you can prove that you are earning a good wage and being a first time borrower, you may only get offered around $1000 with most lenders which is pretty bad. Banks are never the best places to get loans unless you can provide up to five years worth of addresses and have had a regular income going into your account for a good while.

Most lenders (Not Bank ones) are interested only in whether you have a regular full time job and/or if you have a home of your own or assets they can take in the event that you might die or fail to keep up with payments for any reason. This is why many loans are for home-owners rather than for tenants secured or unsecured loans.

Many loan companies take on people with bad credit or no credit because they are going to make a profit from the interest rates they charge anyway and why the good/bad credit thing is so irrelevant when applying for a loan generally. Very few loan companies turn away poor credit score customers as long as they are working or own a home.

Cool! More fraudsters looking to drum up business!

Advice:

If you have no means of contact other than a phone number or "hotmail/yahoo" email address, they're a fraudster.

If you are provided with an address and phone number, run a reverse directory to make sure it all checks out as matching what it is supposed to be. If you can't find the address or phone number, it's because the phone number's unlisted and the address doesn't exist... not because the business is new.

If you are applying online check to see if the site is secure... level three required... and check the certificate by clicking on the padlock symbol to make sure the certificate is legitimate.

Most important of all... if they ask you to send money, they are a scam. Asking money up front for a loan is illegal and no legitimate lender will do it. Do NOT send it.

If you have given your information:

Report it to the police.
Place a fraud alert on your credit files.
Notify your bank
Pay for a monitoring service to watch for activity on your credit file.

I am thinking you need to find a leprechaun and take his crock-o-gold, because the chances are much slimmer that a bank will lend you any dough.

Well yes but I will recommend you to establish a budget, look your expenses, cut those one"s than are good for nothing, then go to your bank leave your saving account and ask for a loan, most be less than the money you have in your savings,
but you are not going to get it back until this amount is paid off, this Will force you to save money, remember there are many companies than are looking for your money, it's your money ! and you need it Now!

My credit is fairly poor, and I have had a difficult time getting loans, but you have to start out small, and use every positive credit reference you can. Keep them written down in a notebook and carry it with you when you go to get one. Try getting a payday advance, or something like that, and pay it back right away after you get paid. There are companies who will help people with low credit scores, but they will charge you a heap of interest. My recommendation is to NOT look on the internet for that sort of thing because they will flood your inbox with all sorts of offers, and it is hard to tell whether it is a legit offer or a scam, plus they sell your email address to all kinds of vendors. Good Luck.

There are a few different ways to attack this problem. First, evaluate your current credit and financial situation. I don't want to tell you to go get new credit cards if you cannot afford the ones you have hence the 400 score. it is only digging a deeper hole for yourself. That said lets work on cleaning up the score you have so when you are more stable and ready to re-establish your credit it will be easier and less expensive. Start by requesting a copy of your credit from each of the 3 reporting agencies. if you have been turned down for credit int he last 30 days this is free, just send them a copy of the denial letter you received and ask for your free copy.

Next review each report to see if the information is both accurate and consistent. Believe it or not, they probably will not match each other 100%. If you find errors then take the steps to correct them, call or write to the companies and ask them to be corrected. if you get no response then wrote to each credit reporting agency (the place you received the reports from) and file a dispute and state the reason why you are disputing as well as the account information. BE SURE THESE ARE VALID DISPUTES!!! Please do not make claims that something is an error just to try and have it removed. It will more than likely be put back on later if you do get it off at all. Watch your inquiries as they are a big hit to your score. They will generally stay on for about 6 months. If you see inquiries from companies that you never requested credit from, contact the credit agencies and ask them to be removed, since they are in error. Again, only for those that are in error. You will be surprised how much of a difference this will make. Next you should probably evaluate your finances. Do you need new credit, or can you try and clear up some of the old debts first. Doing so will also raise your score and make it easier and cheaper to get credit down the road. Your credit is one of the most important and valuable assets you have so protect it.
