Yeah you can use your bank account if the place accepts it. If they do you need to know your bank routing number and your account number

Sometimes what I do is if it is with-say, Wal-Mart, Target, etc. and it's an online only special. I just put money on one of their gift cards and pay with the gift card online.

There are on-line payment services like paypal you can use to pay for purchases. Usually you either have to put money into the account or have it linked to a bank account though.

if ur going to purchase something online your best bet is to buy a one time use card, like a visa gift card etc.

How will you want to pay for it is probably my question to you? If you give me some ideas I can offer some suggestions that will help you. One immediate suggestion is go to Paypal.com and click the tab 'Products & Services'. Then click shop on line and you will see thousands of online stores that accept PayPal. You can sign up will PayPal and have them deduct the money from your checking account for free. It's completely automated and later they will offer you a PayPal credit card if you need to establish credit which takes me back to my first question. Good luck.
