For real though, that is the stupidest idea ever. |

This is really a moot question as it is doubtful anyone will loan you 100,000 to invest in the stock market. What are you planning to use as collateral? |

It is not a bad idea, it's just a risky idea.
You should do it if you feel your investing skills can earn at least the interest on the loan and commissions you pay for the trades. If the loan is 7% and the commissions are with a discount broker don't even worry about the cost of them, at 7% you would need to make $7,000 a year return or you would loose. Although you should put a value on your time, so if you made a profit of only $100 or less it might not be woth it unless you place very little value on ur time. |

No. (Unless I am your portfolio manager or somebody else with a lot of experience in the stock market)
If you have experience in the stock market you can also invest on your own. But It seems that is not your case.
I also wonder, How much of the $100,000.00 are you willing to lose in the stock market? ($10,000.00-$100,000.00)
And how are you going to pay the loan back? I mean, you don't have other sources of income or are you going to sell your house or your car to pay the loan? |

NO, it is not a good idea. It is a very dangerous one. You will have to do very well in your investment to make up for the loan charges. And if the investment happens to fall in value a bankruptcy can result meaning you would lose more than the original loan. You would probably lose all of your assets. |

The answer is very simple.
If you borrowed this money, and lost it all next week, then what? Can you afford to lose $100k?
At a minimum, you need to find a stock that can guarantee a return equal to whatever you will be paying in interest on your loan.
Think real hard on this before you do it. Next year I may be charging for my advice on bankruptcy. |

people have made money this way...people have more often ruined themselves this way...read your history book about the crash in the 20s...if you are going to borrow money, consider investing in real estate...at least you would have something tangible that probably will go up in value and could produce some income for you... |
