a company called "american shopping center" just called me telling me that i won a free camera and vacation, n that in order to get the package i would have to pay the shipping and handeling, and the only way to pay was through a debit or credit card. i told them i didnt have one (even though i do) and if there was any other payment methods, they said no, because the shipping and handlng was only 3 dollars, so i ***** mail a check or money order. i told them to call me back tonight. but does has this ever happened to anyone before. does this sound like a scam. or do you think this is legit.

It's just a way to get your credit card info. If you didn't enter the contest, there's no way you won it.

I second Rebbecca...NEVER give any financial info over the phone even if it is to your bank or credit card companies unless you initiated the call. If someone calls claiming to be your bank/Credit card company asking for your social security number and or account numbers tell they you don't feel comfortable giving that info, that if they read it you can confirm it or better yet ask for a number in which you can call them back at...if you don't get the normal bank number its a scam someone is trying to steal your identity

this is a definate scam. they are trying to get your financial info. 1. you didnt enter any contest, so you could not have won. you would never see any such prize, but you would see identity theft. 2. if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
