Lets ask ourselves, do you have someone that would leave you an inheritance from another country that you most likely have never been to, never heard of the person, and uses a free email listing, that is willing to fork over 6.8 Million dollars, and uses very poor english?

This is a scam> I work in a Bank and this is definitely not something that you would want to pursue. Just remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. |

It is most certainly a scam.
First why would anyone be giving you an inheritance out of the blue? Consider the volume of money involved? Who would give away $6.8M to anyone?
Look at the standard of the grammar?
Your personal details are being asked for.
A hotmail address does not seem a likely choice for a bank.
Why are you advised not to contact others?
A good site to check for Scam and the various forms is http://www.snopes.com/. Increasingly though, there are more variations to these mails than "Snopes" might ever be able to catch up with.

This is a scam. Some clues include:
1. The earthlink and hotmail addresses. If it was legitimate, the sender would have their own domain.
2. You cannot withdraw 6.8 million using an ATM card in one year. The most that can be withdrawn from ATM machines is only a few hundred dollars per card per day.
3. The country code in +2348063081287.
4. The e-mail is in English and uses the name Sen. David Mark. The UK, Australia, Canada, Israel, etc., do not have Senators. The U.S. does not have a Sen. David Mark. The only remaining countries which conducts its banking in English and commonly send e-mails that claim to be from Senators are certain African countries known for fraud (mainly Nigeria). |

Let's see... the email wants you to reply to an untraceable free email account at hotmail, which is different from the email account (earthlink) that sent the email. I think it just might not be for real. |

It's a scam that will cost you dearly.
They will either get hold of your bank account and withdraw all your money, or ask you to send some "processing fee". They will even send you a check that clears, but will eventually bounce after a few weeks. Then you will be in trouble for bank fraud.
So...Once you receive emails like this, either ignore it or delete it. Those scammers in Nigeria will be pissed off but they will not be able to victimize you. |
