Seems like the old lady in front of me at the grocery story always does it without embarassment. |

It is, but we all do it. Dont be too self conscious about it. Also, sometimes places really need the extra change. |

Girl I bought some fries downstairs in a little lobby and I had to pay $2.50, I pulled out my change out, I don't care, they should be happy that Im paying for it and not just running away with the fries. Lol. Just pay for it, if thats all you have right now dont worry about it as long as your paying for it. Thats how I see it. Nickles, dimes, quarters and pennies are life savers specially when a person is broke as a joke. |

It is, but its still money. Its easier if you let them know you cleaned out your purse (or ashtray) and decided to use the coins. Makes it a little less embarrassing. |

Well, change is money, too. It takes up more time to find all your change and stuff. But, just laugh at yourself when you find yourself in a situation like that. It's kind of funny, you know? |

My son thinks the same thing too. He is a teenager. Money is money! Sometimes the casheir is happy when you bring them change as they may be low on it themselves so do NOT be embarrassed! |

you know my mom did this once with my little brother when he was two. she had a bunch of coins (most of them were pennies) saved up from grocery shopping change. she went to the self check out counter and had my little brother put the coins in the coin slot. a lady behind us started laughing when she saw what my mom was having my little brother do. so I dont think its wrong unless your in a long line. |

Actually, I do it on purpose, especially at Christmas when everyone in line behind me is in a hurry and are impatient. I also make sure I ask for directions too even though I know where I'm at. Actually, I don't do it to be obnoxious. I hope to evoke comments so that I have the opportunity to remind people that the holiday spirit is about giving. It isn't about our anxiety. |

Yea, but I do that sometimes, don't worry! Maybe you can go to abenk, to get $2, in the nickels and dimes, then just give 30 cents, then maybe you won't feel that embarrassed, but don't worry your not the only one who feels embarrassed! I do too! |

Not to me, but I don't pay for stuff over $3 in all change, because I think it's rude to the person who has to recount it. |
|

?

its alright if its only like 2.30.. i'd be embarrased if iwas paying upwards of 5 in change.. unless w/ dollar coins.. |

Don't worry .. it will be over soon. The rest of the world is following New Zealand. Not many of us in NZ carry money around anymore. We all use EFTPOS CARDS (Electronic Funds Transfer Point Of Sale). Slide it through the machine to pay for things and it comes straight out of your Bank Account with "no interest", because the money is yours and it's not a Credit Card with interest. Even young kids have them over here. Also takes the weight out of the handbag. |
