Being an authorized user will not longer count as of September 1st. They are taking it out of the score calculation.

Gas cards and store specific credit cards are the easiest to get. You might need your parents to cosign for you.
There is a company (I think it is Citibank) that has a student visa.
Be very careful. There are many people in their early 20s with bad credit from cards they got when they were 18.
You have to be eighteen before you can get credit in your own name. |

Its too hard as It is. When you turn 18 get your own cell phone and account in your name and everything if you can. Then get a credit card and pay off your cell phone bill with it, and then pay off the card. Thats how I built my credit up. Im 20 now and my Credit score has gone up a lot since I started that a year and a half ago. |

yes, have your parents add you as an authorized user on one of their credit cards (this will cause the company to send you a card in the mail which will allow you to buy stuff on their credit card, but they can just throw it away). my mom added me as an authorized user on her credit card when I was seventeen, and it gets reported on your credit report. I'm eighteen now, and have been building credit for a year. Nice to be ahead of the game. |

Yes. When I was 16 I got a checking account at my bank with a check card. My mom also put me on one of her credit cards.
My credit is excellent, and it really helped that I started before I was 18. |

yes you can get a credit card anytime time you want. my friend is 19 and he has one, even thought he went over its max by 35 cents and got charged 40 bucks, and it messed up his credit for 6 months so watch out. |

yes, if you pay car insurance that builds credit. once you do turn 18 take out a small loan, like 100-200 dollars and buy yourself something nice- then just pay back every month on time and you'll have good credit. |
