If you don't have bad credit (just no credit) then the credit card companies would loe to give you one (you it wisely and conservatively - its easy to run up huge debts that you can't pay on one of these). Just call teh bank of your croice and ask for one.

You may want to search around first for the best deals on cahs back. For my money I'd just get any deal that gives you 1% or more back on all your purchases - and gives you cash, not rewards to buy gas or whatever. Chase (and many others) has a good card for this.

Probably going to your local electronics store and applying there would be a start. Don't listen to the people who say "good you should never have any" that is just stupid and ignorant. Having a credit card allows you to do many things such as rent cars, flexibility in an emergancy. Just because you have them does not mean you need to use them. Having no credit rating sucks. When you want to buy a house in the future, it will be next to impossible. If you ever buy a car and need to finance it, your interest rate will be way up there.

You can also try a savings account backed card if you are have a problem getting anyone to just give you an unsecure card. This type of card is good for a start and usually after a while you will be able to get an unsecured card rather quickly. Just remember to make AT LEAST your minimum payments EACH AND EVERY MONTH.

Be grateful that you haven't gone into debt yet. I have been in debt & it totally sucks. I can now honestly say that I see absolutely NO NEED to ever have credit again. I look forward to paying off my last few debts from my stupider days & having no credit rating at all again. Get a copy of the book below & at least read & consider it before you go get a stupid credit card. The best time to read it is BEFORE you start digging a hole for yourself. If you still decide to get a credit card (or any other debt instrument), at least I can say, "I told you so," later. JK, but not much.

If the company to whose credit card you have applied, charges you a very high interest rate, avoid it. When you apply for secured credit cards, you'll find some companies will charge you an annual fee. It is ok in certain cases. An annual fee not exceeding $60 is acceptable. But don’t pay over $60 in annual fees for a secured credit card.

While availing a credit card, it is necessary to check the credit card rate. This rate plays an inevitable part, as based on this rate your payment amount is decided. Various credit cards are available with different rate. Every time, consumers try to choose a credit card at a lower interest rare.

Most of the time, it is seen that while choosing a credit card, people generally check whether the rate is low or not. But a low rate cannot be the only consideration in availing a credit card. Besides rate, a consumer should heed in other factors as well. Remember, though various credit card companies entice consumers with low interest rates; at the same time, they include various hidden costs and charges with a credit card as well. So, do not only verify the interest rate, but also consider other things while availing a credit card.

Many a time, credit card companies offer low rate for a specific period of time. Such low rates are considered as an introductory offer of various companies. In such cases, check how long the offer will last. After the period is over, verify what the interest rate will be, whether it will be affordable for you or not etc. Check out alist of popular low apr credit card list at: http://www.credit-card-gallery.com/0_Intro_APR.html

Why would you want a credit card? Why would you want to be in debt in order to get cash? The only way to get cash is earn it, don't borrow it. 83% of Americans are in debt over their head, and it all started out like this. NEVER BORROW MONEY.
IF YOU CANT AFFORD IT, DON'T BUY IT.

NEVER, EVER TAKE ADVICE FROM BROKE PEOPLE. WHY WORK 40 HOURS A WEEK JUST TO PAY THE BANK FOR MONEY YOU BORROWED.

To start your search, it is better to go to general credit card websites that have an option of searching through various credit card deals. Here you have a golden chance of finding a 0% credit card deal that matches your requirements. Look carefully at the fact whether the selected credit card is 0% or not, but also find out the duration of this 0% period, whether the 0% covers purchases, balance transfers or both, and the rate of interest applicable once the 0% period is over.
