I use pay pal if your buying your item will be classed as paid if using paypal . If you use cheque or postal ored obviously the seller will wait for them to clear before sending your item.
Also with paypal if your buying you'll not get charged only the seller.

Not long ago i bought a video game from e-bay,i used pos-
tal 'cause i don't have a credit/debit card,or a check.It's Rea-
lly up to you.but when i was on there,i did hear that it's preferred that you ask the seller if they're OK with money orders
first,unless they've already specified it's OK.

Some sellers only take paypal, while others take money orders/personal checks. Paypal is probably your best bet overall, but always check which form of payment they accept before bidding.

I'm pretty new myself, Paypal is brilliant and easy to use, if i can use it anyone can! Dont use your normal current account, set up a new account at your bank then transfer cash from current to acc as and when? E mail me for help if you want and i'll go through it with you, i'm the worlds worst for distrusting people and security! so contact me if you need advice okay...LEX.

Absolutely Paypal. As a buyer and a seller, I'm reluctant to use anything else.

I very rarely buy an item with anything else, because there's no protection unless you pay by paypal. Plus, once your address is verified, it's added protection for the seller.

Paypal is best because it's immediate payment and people like to use their paypal accounts instead of messing about posting cheques / postal orders. Postal orders second because of the time scale involved. You will get some cheque payments, but no matter what pressure you get - don't send out the goods 'till cheque has cleared! Good luck!

i started by using cheque and postal order as i didnt trust putting bank details etc online but i decided to try it and now i just use paypal it is soo easy to use no more queing at the post office to ash in postal orders good luck

Pros and cons for all

Paypal charge you - bit of a rip-off to be honest and they even charge you to withdraw your money on top of the fees but it is very quick and safe. You also have seller and buyer protection.

Cheques delay the whole process as you have to wait for cheque to be posted, deposited and cleared before an item can be postted. Postal order not really an issue apart from perhaps people being put off by having to go po to buy it insead of clicking a button.

I've used paypal with success more than once. I believe it is secure.

Furthermore, I have a friend who owns a hobby store. As it turns out, the majority of his business is done online using ebay; he buys and sells stuff; he uses paypal.

Paypal is the best company to use as it came about initially to work in colloboration with paypal. It is free to join and is very convinient for already e-bay customers. Paypal ensures that you get your money as it offers some sense of security; in that it holds the buying history and the personal history of the buyer. Personally, I do not know much about standing orders but it is better to avoid cheques. They are tool risky for various reasons. however at the end of the day to add flexibility of service you could offer a choice of different payment options; then it will be up to your customers to choose the one they want depending on how quickly they need the products/services that you offer. All the best

the best way to go is paypal because if the seller does not send you the item its the only guaranteed way to get yor moneyback. I have made 40 purchases from ebay and been screwed 3 times. I sent a money order usps priority mail with delivery confirmation and never got my cash back. Ebay is lenient when it comes to punishing seller non-performance because it needs the listing fees.
Not only that but a lot of paypal only auctions get less bids which means more oppyrtunities to get items cheap.

i only use paypal as it is the fastest way and also if you need a refund for any reason paypal is easier to sort rather than trying to claim back a postal order or stop a cheque

I have paid through Paypal for over three years with no problem. Most sellers use Paypal, and it does make for a speedy transanction. If you pay by cheque you have to wait for it to clear, so it can take up to ten days to recieve your purchase
