i signed up to have a credit card a while ago. then i got it in the post and cut it up, cause i had few money problems.
anyway online it says i have £500cr.
they dont charge me anything, cause obviously i havent used it.
but could i buy something online with it?. and if i do. how do i pay them back :S. will they take the money from my direct debit. |

You would have to contact the credit card company and request a new card.
Then you can use your available credit.
If the way that you chose to pay the bill is direct debit and that is still active, then that is how you will pay. Otherwise, you should receive a bill in the mail. You can also pay online with a checking account.

According to LTSB you have a credit card. They don't know that you cut it up.
Phone, email or write to them to explain (I'd just say you lost it). That way they will send you a new card out. You cannot use a card if you haven't got the numbers. However, once you get your new card after contacting them then yes, you can absolutely use it online and at the stores, etc. Just be careful though, you have to pay a certain percentage back and even then they will add APR to the account.
To pay it back you can either set up a Direct Debit to automatically pay them back. When you contact them, ask if this is already set up (or check with your bank) because you may have done this when you applied for the account. If not, they will send you a statement monthly with a bank giro on it to pay and a date you need to pay by. With bank giros, it takes a few days to reach the recipient so do this about 2 working days in advance.
If you just keep your credit card and use it for small things only slightly (say weekly shopping where you can pay back what you took out of it immediately) you will seriously have an advantage on your credit file/history. I want to do this myself but cannot get a credit card as I was silly 3+ years ago.
