I live in a rural area and own approx 2 acres now but will eventually inherit 30 acres. My husband and I built a modest size home on the 2 acres approx 4 years ago..now we have 2 kids and much better careers..if we would have waited to build are home we could have afforded a much better home. Our 2 acres is on the same property as the 30 acres that I will inheret..now my question is..is it easier to get a loan to build on and update our home (but there are many things that we would like to do) or would it be easier just to sell our 2 acres and home and build a brand new home? I really would prefer not to have someone living on our land in our original home..but I really do not like the house...we have so/so credit but have never been late on our mortgage or our car payments..just have some previous credit card issues from many years ago. |

The best way to go is run your free credit reports. For online, go to annualcreditreport.com for all 3 reports. By mail, just call Trans Union toll free @ 1-877-322-8228 for all 3 free reports. If some of these "problems" are over 2 years old, this should not effect your credit score now. A credit score is based on a 12 month activity. Instead of moving, you can get a professional builder that can show you how to re-model certain parts of your home and leave other parts alone if you're satisfied for that section |
