Let's say you buy an item for $400 and $200 online using a credit card. Then, you mail the items back to the company, and the company says sorry, you won't have your refund for 4- 6 weeks. While you are waiting for the $600 credit to appear, you get a bill from your credit card for $600. Do you have to pay the full $600 by the required date to avoid finance charges? Do you have to pay for items you do not have if the merchant is taking a long time to process the refund? If you do pay it, then you will be permanently out the $600 cash and left with a negative credit card balance? If you only paid the minimum, would you be charged interest? How does this situation work? |

Obviously if you pay the minimum you will be charged interest...credit card banks aren't charities you know. |

You do need to pay at least the minimum to avoid late charges & hits to your credit. You will pay interest/finance charges on any unpaid bal. When you get your credit issued you can request a check from the cc. company. Hope this helps! |
