My Mom Want's One of My Credit Cards?
She Keeps asking and I keep beating around the bush about it. I really don't want to give her one. I'm already paying off some of the things she asked me to get with one of my card.

Age is 19. I don't want to give her my lowest which is 600, which is higher than any of the cards she has now. Because she is in debt.

So what should I do?

Stop beating around the bush, tell her no. Tell her she is the Mother and she needs to get one of her own. You should not be paying off your Mom's debt, that is just ludicrous. If she can't get a credit card there is probably a reason and giving her yours isn't the best idea. Tell her you lost it and so you had to cancel it with your company for fear of someone getting it and using it. Lie or tell the truth either way don't do it.

Mike
Obviously, she is not responsible with money... and a credit card should be the last thing you should give her.

Go to Daveramsey.com and look for and sign her up for Financial Peace University.... it sounds like she needs it. Maybe you both do!

Tell her no ! Plain and simple..
Tell her to get a pre-paid one

M
Tell her that you're sorry that she needs your cards but you really can't do that for her. Instead you could tell her to call her credit card company and ask for a credit line increase.

Tell her no. I'm appaulled just reading your post here! Tell her you are just about at your max with what you can afford to pay off and you don't want to get yourself in the same trouble she is in. I'm just beginning to swim out of an aweful credit situation...please be smart and responsible with your credit. This has been the worst six years of my life!

Well, if you are handing them out, I'll take one.

I would not give it to her. Explain to her that you've tried to help her out before and now you are stuck paying it off. It may hurt her feelings, but maybe she needs a little bit of a reality check to make herself realize that she has a problem. She is probably in debt because she is not the most responsible buyer. Tell her you would reconsider it if she made an effort to control her debt. With your help and support, she may have a better chance of paying it off. You are not helping your mom by letting her use your credit. She needs to learn financial responsiblilty otherwise her retirement is going to suck.

Tell her you are still paying off HER previous bills on your cards, and you are not willing to risk ruining your credit at such a young age. If she gets mad, too bad. Your mom has a problem, I'm sure you know. Don't let her problem become yours. And if she is an authorized user on any of your accounts, call them and remove her NOW.

I wouldn't do it, and honestly, shame on her for asking you to do that. I have a mom similar to that....don't do it. You'll end up paying the card off yourself, without a dime from her.

If she needs help, and you want to help her out, pay one or two of her bills for her-but you do it, whether you put it on the card or not, but don't give her your card. If she says no to that, then you know she wants to use the card to buy other stuff as opposed to paying off the bills.

Tell her no!! And leave it at that. She has no right to it, and you need to be able to keep tabs on the purchases made with it so you won't go into debt!

Starte Christ
Give her a card if only if you are prepared to pay the bills for whatever she charges.

Figure a way to help your mama as much as you can without ruining your credit or causing excessive conflict.

Endeavor to live debt free as soon as you have another opportunity. Start by saving as much money as you can. Give the information to someone you trust in the event of your death.

Tell her that you lost it and closed the account.
Change all of your numbers and put them in a safety deposit box at a bank. Get a credit report to make sure she hasn't gotten you into any financial trouble. Sometimes when parents are in a bind, they use their under aged kids personal information and social security cards to gain access to credit. Sorry, but it is time for you to get your finances in order and move out. Are you in college?
That would be a good way for you to gradually move out and stay on good terms as well as learn a skill. financial aid is available. contact colleges in your area. Mom needs to learn how to learn how to handle her finances.
Is she a single parent? Can her mom give her some guidance? No matter what, it is not your problem. Get yourself together and move. It is time to start your life not be an extention of hers.

God Bless

Just tell her they are all maxed out and no credit is available... what can she say?

Or tell her you cancelled them all...
