My car got repo'd and auctioned!?
whats the best way to explain to my mother that i got my car repo'd when she's the cosigner? is there any possible good lie out there.. me and her don't keep in touch or talk much.. its been over a year since we've made contact..

The only way to tell her is to tell her the truth.

She will find out anyway when she realizes that because of you her credit is trashed.

You do realize that your lender can and most likely will go after your Mom as well as you for the balance due them.

Honestly, First you trash her credit and then you want to lie to her. You must make her so proud!

OC1999
She may already know. As a co-signer she is as responsible for the loan as you are. This means that the Repo shows up on her credit report also. So if the bank has not contacted her already about making your missing payments, she will see it if she ever reviews her credit report.

So the best thing to do is let her know the truth.

on your knees with ur neck exposed.
now if she doesn't take ur head off
go back and find 3 pt/tm jobs at what ever wages u can and start working until u pay off the loans on the car .
then give her and extra 2000$ for the problems u cause her.

read '48 days to work u love' d.miller to learn to increase ur income.
beg forgivence

Tell the truth, if your lucky, she will not kill you for screwing up her credit and putting her at risk for being sued.

You realize that the creditor can come after you (and her) for the difference between what you owed and what it sold for? You're a winner.

just tell her straight up ... its not like your life will be too impacted if she gets mad and refuses to talk to you.

seekinganswers36
You cannot be too bright. Your mom already knows. They ask her for the car payments, the moment you stopped paying. Now her credit is trashed, there is no lie that can possible cover the situation. You must be young and very inexperienced.
You need to call and apologize, and you need to realize that you and your mom are liable for the balance of the loan minus what they sold the car for.
GET REAL and GROW UP!!!!

Not only did you ruin your mothers credit, but if there is still money owed after the auction, and there usually is, they will go after your mother unless you pay it. If you are busy looking for a lie, I doubt that you'd be responsible enough to pay the deficit. I was a Credit Counselor for many years. and saw people like you before. You have no conscience. I'm sure your mother co-signed for you in good faith and had no idea you'd mess up and look for lies. Tell her the truth, contact the finance company and see if anything is owed, pay it, and tell your mom your very very sorry you ruined her credit. I always tell people never to co-sign because you wind up paying for something that you never had the pleasure of enjoying and possibly could have their credit ruined. This is a classic example.
