My credit card is repeatedly being declined when I try to subscribe, but there are funds available. Why?

Are you sure it isn't expired or that you are putting in the correct expiration date?

Sometimes they put a hold on your account for more then the cost of the item your trying to purchase so maybe you don't have enough available funds on your account.

Subscribe to what? It depends on how much of your money they need to lock up and hold until it goes through. Hell, gas stations lock up about an extra $50 of your credit line when you fill up. This way they are guaranteed their money.

Subscribe to what?

There could be many reasons why your card is being denied.

1. You have not made payments. Your card can be put on a block even though you have funds available.

2. You are putting the wrong information.

3. It has been canceled due to inactivity.

4. The card really does not belong to you. If you are not the main account holder, you might have been droped from the account.

5. The card that you are using is not accepted by the merchant.

6. Its a Visa gift card.

7. You have repeatedly entered the wrong information and your card has been "FLAGED" for potential FRAUD.

Just try again later or use another card.

The End

Call your credit card company, their phone number should be on the back of your credit card.

Ferd
For transaction decline reasons, call your bank. They can give you a very specific answer to your question.

Just so you know, there will be a few reasons.
1. Insufficient funds.
2. Invalid CVV (last 3 digits at back of card).
3. Card expiry date.
4. Referred, meaning the bank has to manually authorize it. Merchant has to call the bank authorization.
5. Network (Visa, MC, AMEX, etc.) unavailable.
6. Card blocked (lost/stolen report).
7. Merchant machine error. It shows that the transaction has been declined. But when you call the bank, it has been approved. This results to two pending transactions of the same amount.

But still, if you want to know, best to call your bank.

Perhaps it's not a card the vendor accepts or you got the expiry date wrong or the validation code wrong?

Blueyedshewolf
Could be a problem with the lines or something. Also I do not know if you are trying to use it online or not but some cards now have it set up so they cannot be used online unless you call the credit card company first and request it be allowed. They do that to avoid fraud charges on your card. It is set up that way for your protection. All you can do is call your credt ard company and ask them why it is doing that. It could also be that your payment has not been recieved. They can decline them even if there are still funds available if payments are not recieved. I have seen that happen from time to time. The best thing you can do is call your card company. Good luck and I hope you get this figured out.

Do_you_know_what
You card may have expired.

Just today or is it an ongoing problem? I tried to make purchases with my visa at two different websites today and was declined. There is nothing wrong with my card either.

Try again tomorrow, and if it still doesn't work give your credit card company a call.

There are a number of reasons, if you miss payments, they sometimes freeze it until you pay your minimum payment, it could have expired, it could have been flagged for a large/suspicious purchase, your bank may have frozen it if it's connected to your bank account and that's in arrears, there may purchases pending that haven't posted yet but still take up your available credit, some companies like hotels and car rental places place a hold on your available credit in case something gets damaged- it's in the fine print... You'd have to call your provider- the number should be on the back of your card- and ask them. do yourself a favor while you're at it if you have good credit and tell them you need a lower interest rate because X company offers much lower. Good luck!

DUH!!! How long are you going to keep getting declined before you realize you need to call the credit card company and ask them!?
