Credit Steroids, try your local GNC store. Just kidding.
Do you have any collections accounts. If so try to pay those off. Pay off debt. Do not apply for any credit, a cell phone, gym membership or other stuff could result in a credit inquiry. Pay off and do not use any small balance accounts, but keep the account open. Stop using open accounts.
If you have any closed accounts with delinquency history that are closed, pay those off first. If you are a sloppy payer and just seem to always be late for some reason. Get organized. Check on all your accounts on the 1st and 15th of the month. Pay accounts on your payday, not the due date, why wait X days. Based on your score ANY delinquency will keep your score down. Set payments above the minimums. If you are paid every two weeks, then pay every two weeks. Say your minimum is $65, send $40 every two weeks. It is easier to budget. If you have an oline checking account this can be automatically set up.

Gatsby gave good advice. I would simply add that if you have credit card debt, for each card keep your balance less than 50% of the credit limit. Lower if possible, and keep paying your bill on time. This will help build your credit score. |

The easiest way to improve you score is to start repairing your credit. You can do it yourself very inexpensively there is a company out there called Dun Deal Credit Repair shows you step by step on how to remove items from your credit file and negotiate with current debt collectors to improve your score. I also suggest you get a secured credit card the minimum you need to open one is $300.00 you can open it at your local bank. This is the easiest way to start to rebuild while having a few items on your credit file. If you do open one of these accounts do not spend anymore the 20% of your credit limit. Always pay a little more then the minimum payment. EX: if the minimum payment is $10.00 send the credit card company $20.00 you will see a signifincant jump in your score in no less the 90 days. Start by ordering your credit file and start an investigation. Note: do not believe that if these debts are yours they can not be removed from you credit file. |

You might want to check out this site - they can help you improve your credit score by using the law and they're 100% legal. They are also in good standing with the Better Business Bureau and do not charge those extremely ridiculous prices like those companies that scam. I used their service and was so happy that I did. They offered a money-back guarantee, were professional, and delivered on what they promised. Check out their website to read all about them. Let me know if you have any questions about the process - I'd be happy to help.

various ways... paying on time, irregardless of HOW you get from here to there, is crutial.
You can consolidate your bills; if you have at least 6 months on each debt, consider a consolidation loan, OR A BETTER IDEA, call 1 credit card company, and increase your available credit, and move all the other debt to that one card (preferrably the on eyou've maintained the best credit with, and the longest you've held on to).
After they're paid off, CLOSE THEM, unless they're over 2 years old, then just leave them with a ZERO balance. If you haven't had any activity in the last 2 years, you shoul dclose them as well.
MAKE D.A.M.N.E.D. sure if YOU close the account, it says "Closed by CONSUMER" when the creditor updates your bureau report. if you don't pay attention, they will put "Closed by CREDIT GRANTOR" and that's not good. (This is what they're USED TO DOING when closing accounts).
Good luck... |
