Why is your credit bad? Do you have lots of debt? Have you failed to meet payments in the past three years?

The one part that you might be able to fix is the total credit available which you have. If you have cards (Macys, Sears) that you do not use, the full credit limit on those is counted as possible debt, on your credit score. Cancelling unused cards can up your score.

Find a cheaper car. Save up some cash, get an extra job, cut some lawns, walk some dogs... and stash the cash you make into a car fund. Buy a 2,000 car with cash, then you don't have to sweat the payments on a 7500 loan. (not to mention, be gouged by the interest rate you may be forced to pay)

As far as increasing your credit score, pay your bills on time and in full every month. Do this for a good 6 months to a year, and your score will rise, and you will be in line for much better interest rates.

Another option would be Prosper. Click on the link from stupiddayjob.com at the top of the page, and sign up. People will bid on your loan as they would for an item on ebay. The difference is, the bid your interest rate down. Lets say you start at 25%, someone may see your risk as worth 20%, the next guy may see it at 18%.... so on and so on, until the overall rate from all the bidders of your loan get the final rate that is bid. Investors (such as myself) get a more favorable rate than most investments, and you the loanee get a rate, and better terms that that of most banks, plus 3 years to pay it back. It really is a great service. let me know if I can be of any further service.

I had one with HSBC and at the time of my loan my credit score was about 579 about 2 years ago (it has since improved) my loan was for $16K so I'm pretty sure you'll be able to get financed thru them for the $7,500 ~ you will defintely have a higher interest rate (my was 16%) but after 18 months of on time payments I refinanced my loan with my credit union for 12% yeah that's still high but my credit still continues to improve!!!

Best of Luck

dealer financing. car dealers are usually the most flexible lenders to work with. when I had bad credit, I bought a brand new Toyota with scores way lower than that with dealer financing. I worked on my credit and refinanced with a better deal some years later, but in the mean time, at least I had reliable transportation.

Poor credit car loans have been specifically designed for those people who have trouble getting credit due to their credit score being too low, if your credit score is too low then you will be seen as a huge risk and as such the lender will not take a chance on you and so turn you down. You can bring your credit rating back up by doing certain<!--things but it does take a long time and if you want your car now then applying for a poor credit car loan could be your only or best option.Just as with any other type of loan if you go to a specialist then you will get the best deal. You may get the car loan you want from here,

http://best-loans.awardspace.com/guaranteed-car-loan.htm

http://best-loans.awardspace.com/auto.html

When applying for a poor credit car loan you have to realise that you are never going to get the very lowest of interest rates that others have the luxury of securing but if you go with a specialist they will be able to get you the lowest among loans associated with a poor credit rating. Along with getting you the cheapest possible poor credit car loan the specialist-->website will also be able to offer you the best advice. However unless you know something about car loans and in particular what to look for when it comes to getting a poor credit car loan then you could end up paying way over the odds for the privilege of getting the loan.

There are a huge number of banks that deal with auto loans for people with challenge credit. The two best choices are:
1. Go to a very large dealership that advertises that they help people with credit problems. A large dealership will normally have more banks they work with, more talented leading specialist on staff, and stronger relationships with the banks. (There are exceptions to this rule of thumb.)
2. Put down a large down payment. The more money you put down, the more likely the bank is to give you the loan.

Also, note two additional things:
1. Depending on current rebate offers, a new car may be easier to finance with a lower payment and lower down payment for you.
2. Some credit unions are wonderful for people with credit issues.

My advice is to find a dealer you feel comfortable doing business with. Believe it or not, there are honest auto dealers and honest car salespeople. Try to find one you instinctively feel good about. Generally, you will get the best deal from a "good person".

No, closing unused accounts will not increase your score. In fact, it could decrease it.

If you have high balances owing on your cards, paying them off and leaving them open will help. Closing them could lower the average age of your accounts as well as your available to used credit and lower your score. Leave them open if that's the problem you will see a quick jump in your score.

Otherwise, as mentioned here, go to the dealership. You may have to get a high interest loan, but it will help you to build your score as long as you make the payments on time.

I have a low score myself and when i needed a car I went to my capital one co. they do all kinds of loans....i.e. cars , mortgages and so on ....but of course I was in good standing with them. Maybe that's something that you can try......go through your credit card company, of course your interest rate will be slightly higher but that's to be expected for people with low scores.....It helped my credit though.......good luck

There are plenty of people who will gladly sell you a car for 7500. They will use your credit score as an excuse for charging you a hefty interest rate. You have an opportunity to improve your score by faithfully making payments. If you squander that opportunity, the car will be repossessed. Go ahead and ask. If they say no- ask someone else.
