Maybe it's time to cut back on the luxuries. Take a hard look at your lifestyle and see what you really need to survive. It's tough supporting children, especially if you don't get to see them. I've done it since 1996, I have one more to go. You might try talking to a local electrician....they always need help on weekends to get a hot job done faster. |

Pay your bills and you will have good credit. If you use NO credit cards, then start using one for something and PAY IT OFF EACH MONTH. |

There are several credit correction places out there.. and they can really help you if your truly dedicated to correcting the deficit. If your in college, there are several grants to pay for courses. Learning to control money rather than having it control you is one of the greatest secrets to success. Good Luck. |

When I was in college I had no credit. I will bet you that 50% of the people eating at the restaurant you just charged at don't have the money to pay for their food. So they borrow it to buy their food and drinks. In college, when I was broke, i ate 4 for a dollar pot pies, crappy 99 cent pizza and drank the worst beer ever. Work harder, get another job, stop watching TV. How about cancelling that cable, cell phone, crappy car loan and drive a junker. But the american way is to charge $50 at the bar/restaurant and then look for the credit repair miracle. |

The only thing that can fix/repair bad credit is.....time. Unless the information is wrong you can dispute it. If you have bad credit because of past child support you have to catch up and then only time will improve your score. #1 reason for low credit score is late payments (30+ days late), then balance vs available credit ratio, collections, judgements, inquiries and recent acct. opened also hit your score. Work on managing what you can and educate yourself on what is actually on your credit report. |

i know how you feel... the only thing i can say is to slowly pay off all of your bills... and the only way to do that is to suck it up and pay the cards without re-using them... you may even have to let some of them get behind if you can't make the minimums on all of them... just try to tough it out until you get your new degree and your much better job... it feels like the end of the world now, but it will all work out eventually if you just put in the time and effort... good luck... =) |

It's tough to say without knowing your total debt load. If your only debt was child support, bankruptcy wouldn't be of any help. |

If you can get into a 401k do it, even if you are putting $10 a month in it...it will lower your total income at the end of the year. You may also look into getting a 2nd job if possible, just to pay the support or the bills. With the bills, you need to call your creditors and make arrangements with them. Some or most will be willing to take something from you instead of writing you off as a bad debt. Also get a copy of your credit report, to see if there are any wrong items, duplicates, paid off, old etc....on it. I had the worse credit 10 years ago, but I did all of the things I'm suggesting to you and have been able to turn that around, now own my own home and car in my name. Good luck! |
