My credit score is 574, I only had one credit card and was late on the payments a few months in a row but now i've totally payed it off and they revoked the credit so I don't have any. Try Bank of America, Orchard or First Premier to get another secured card.
This site can help you in the future. www.whogavemecredit.com It will tell you who got credit in your state with the credit scores listed.
This other site www.creditinfocenter.com can help you with cleaning up your credit step by step for free.It teaches you about removing late payment history, and derogatories, ect. on your credit report.
Late payments will affect your score for some time. |

It is kind of hard now since that is your only credit card. But don't give up, just pay your other bills (phone, electric, rent, etc) on time from now and keep your bank acconts in good standing (no over drawns or bounce checks) and give it some times like a year or so and try to apply for a credit card. Good luck!
BTW, the record of those late payments will be on your record for 7 years. |

trust me, i have been there. simply bringing the account up to date will do wonders for your score. but it will take time for you score to slowly move up from there. because it stays on your report for 7 years, it will still have an effect on your score.
In the further, always try to contact the creditor to arrange payments..even if $10. I have learned that most of them will work with you. If you do not contact them at all, or pay at all..well, you see what happens :) |

Your best chance at this point...?
I would contact one of the "deposit cash and its a credit/debit card" companies and set up an account for a year or two and NEVER be late on any payments. Work hard on fixing things and in a few years, you will have fair to good credit.
Do NOT close credit card accounts, do not apply for too many cards until you have good credit, as applying for cards actually hurts your credit score. |

I suggest you get a secured credit card i.e. two hundred dollar card ..two hundred dollar limit and think of each of your accounts old and new.If your payments and amounts are consistent each month your credit score should go up 3 points...3 accounts 9 points.but everytime someone checks your credit that cost you 2 points.574 is pretty bad |

I would definitely say get another card

and start buying things (small ) and pay off the balance before
the bill is due. After a few months... you will have a higher score. |

You might be able to get a credit card with less than favorable terms--if not that then quite possibly a secured credit card A secured credit card that you send the bank $500 in deposit, and then they give you a $500 credit line. The $500 deposit is security against your charges. Sometimes if you are a good customer the bank will eventually do away with your deposit requirement.
If you manage the new card well and always pay on time then you can raise your credit score and qualify for an unsecured card. Manage each new credit opportunity carefully and responsibly and your credit score will increase. |

Quick Fix:
Just walk into your very own bank and put down 250 and get a secured credit card, better if you can up that to 500. Your FICA score will jump immediately...and it;s secured...just keep it for emergencies. |
