Yes, it is. However, there is hope.
I bet you had some issues, maybe are currently late, but most of your credit is old, bad and nothing currently open. If that is the case, the best way to get a score going in the right direction is with a secured credit card.
Revolving credit (credit that can be charged over and over again like a credit card) plays a strong role in your credit score. If you have this low a score, the only card you will get is a secured card. Try Orchard Bank ( http://www.OrchardBankApproval.com ) for an easy and low deposit card. You will need as little as $200 to get started and they will match your deposit with a $200 credit line.
The trick is to NOT max out the card. Buy something small, like a tank of gas. Do not buy something you wouldn't normally need to buy every day because this will just put you in debt. By paying for one tank of gas, you will put $30 on the card. When the bill arrives, pay it off. The $30 balance is reported to the credit bureaus and when you pay it off, you pay no interest.
After 6 mos of doing this, you will see scores most likely in the upper 500's. This is not great credit, but will allow you to find better opportunities to restablish you rcredit and make your life better.
