You have a low credit score, but you might have trouble getting a loan. Work on getting your score high, which you can do in a couple of months easily! -- Some of the things you'll want to do is follow the steps I have listed here and make sure you get the free credit report monitoring on the article listed below to track your progress which is really important!
Here are my 10 steps you can use to build your credit score quickly. I raised mine to well over 700 points fro 500 using these steps in less than a year -- :

# Never Miss a Payment, Starting Today
# Never use more than 20% of your Available Credit
# Keep Credit Cards that Have No Annual Fees Open For as Long as Possible
# Extend Your Credit Limit on Cards You Already Have before You Get New Ones
# Get Credit Cards that Have CashBack Rewards to Contribute to your Balance
# Transfer Your Balance to a Credit Card with a Lower Interest Rate and a Higher Available Credit-
# If You Think You Are Going to be FORCED to Pay a Bill Late Ask for an Extension or Payment Plan
# Take out a Small Personal Loan and Repay it Over a Year
# Ask Someone With Good Credit if They will Account Shadow you

They may but the amount they give you may be lower than you want. Talk to the advisor at the school. |

That score is very low. You are considered a high risk. If the loan you are trying to get is a student loan through the school, then they are backed by the government and your score doesn't matter. If it is an "alternative" private student loan that you don't get through the school, then you will have no chance. You would need a good cosigner (700 + credit) for a private student loan. |

575 is a pretty bad score. as far as a student loan goes, I think just about anyone could get that. |

You should still get a student loan since the government backs them. It's not a really bad credit score tho |

You don't say what type of student loan. If you are getting a guaranteed student loan, then your credit score doesn't matter. If you are applying for a loan that is not guaranteed, you are borderline for getting it at 575. |

850 is best and 520 is lowest I know of that anybody can get a loan and thats from a fella named Fingers! LOL! |

With a score of 575 you have obviously had some issues with credit/debt in the past. Therefore, I say the last thing you need right now is to take on more debt by getting a student loan.
Work a second job, spend less than you make, and pay cash for it all. |
