Don't listen to anybody else. Just go to
https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp
And actually SEE what it is that lowered your credit score. It could be 200 different things. It's free, you dont have to sign up for anything and it doesn't hurt your credit even more. |

You may have opened a new line of credit. You may have had too many companies checking your credit score lately. (I know that sounds stupid, but an increase in credit checks will cause your score to drop.) |

Well, one thing is if your balances are really high or maxed-out and you are just paying the minimum. |

Too many inquiries recently?
Balance more than 50% of credit line can also affected your score. Paying min. balance does not affected your score at all. |

if you've opened any recent accounts or credit cards it would affect your debt/income ratio and lower your score as they could feel you're a little bit overextended. or if you buy things on credit or loan but pay the balance off in less than 1 year they say this does not show enough payment history to work in your favor. one other thought is you may want to make sure nobody else is taking loans or credit cards in your name which could cause this drop in credit score. i hope this helps. |

have you payed anything off? You have to keep borrowing money and making payment to keep a high fico score. If you have payed something off it looks good for a while but if you dont borrow more money and keep making payments then your score will drop. |

This whole thing is a scam. Banks lend out money that doesn't exist, and the only reason they can do it and not be arrested for fraud is that they are the capitalist pigs who run the country and you are not. The credit reporting agencies are another form of parasite that developed as a service to the existing scam and as a disservice to honest human beings.

Many things affect your score. Things that hurt it include:
- new accounts opened
- too many recent inquiries
- too high of a balance
- too many accounts open
Run your free credit report and make sure all the info is correct; dispute errors. Close any old accounts that still show as open. |

Well, if you always pay your bill on time, the following may be the cause:
1) Closed too many credit card accounts recently.
2) Opened store cards (Sears, JC Penney, etc.). These hurt your credit score, as they are generally given out to anyone with a pulse...
3) You are using more than 50% of your available credit (Can also be caused by #1 above).
You can go to www.annualcreditreport.com and get a free credit report to look at. Make sure all of your information is accurate.
Hope that helps. |

To many credit cards can adversely affect your credit rating. Cell phone bills and "in store" credit will also affect your score. The big one is "DIR" (debt to income ratio). If your out go is larger than your income your score will drop. |
