as for student loans they will garnish your wages. you need to contact them and apply for hardship deferment NOW.. find a free/low cost legal aid place for bankruptcy..they have them..it may take a while to find it but they have them. Apply for section 8 housing. IF you are homeless and you can prove it, you will get priority preference which means you won't have to wait the standard 2-3 years.. usually 4-5 weeks. YOu may have to ask for some hours to be dropped so you can get help from the state.. sad to say but that's what they told someone I know to do.. quit work and we will help.
Is there a homeless shelter close by.. go there. THen a social worker will help you with these things and will fill out a form for section 8 that verifies you are homeless which will then get you on the top of the list. GL |

I didn't know that you needed money to file bankruptcy. I filed a chapter 13 back in 2000 and I didn't pay anything up front. I made payments and they came right of my checks it was the attorney fees. If you are homeless have you tried to get medical benefits through the state. They usually ask if you have outstanding medical bills. I paid my debts back through the chapter 13 and I didn't have to go through any garnishments and it was payments I could afford. I had student loans. |

Here is a website that you can find all kinds of local help from, you can put in what kind of help you want from a list of options and then will pop up who helps with that particular option you chose, I have used this a few times when I was in need of assistance, and I have recommended for some family and friends to use this online tool and most have, so it's worth a shot, I don't know what state you actually live in but I'm in Florida and I read on the website that each state has it's own system for assistance through this website to help needy people. Another idea I recommend is www.211.org I haven't personally used this help connection but I went through this website and got links to the website I am using. you go here then select your state and then a list of cities pop up and you select then and there you have it all local charities and financial aids for people who are having trouble. Do you have any family members to help out? Maybe move with them
for a while until you pay off the debt. Bankruptcy can run from
500-1500 to file depending on the type of lawyer and state where hes
from. Normally if youre being sued a judge will not take more than
you can give from your wages, they have to take into account
living expenses, utilities and the rest goes for the debt. Now if you
werent working at all for a while, the judge will make a judgement
against you but since there is no income, the judgement goes
nowhere and it just stays on your credit report for 7-10 yrs. and since
youre homeless theres no home to put a lien. Maybe move in
with relatives/parents. Also Ive read somewhre that medical
expenses arent taken into account into suits, those will dissapear
after 7 yhrs. It all depends on the amount o f the debt also, you dont
say how much you owe? With my sickness I spent 13k and all my
debt has been charged off, its been almost a year.

Bankruptcy will cost you from 900.00 to 1500.00 depending on where you live.
School loans are not included in bankruptcy's.
Can you get food stamps? It sure won't hurt to try.
Can you find a room mate where you can split rent somewhere?
Find an apartment where they go by income. Remember, it's only temporary.
Get in to college. Ge the financial aid! Then, you will qualify for more help and greatly improve your life.

I hate to tell you this but federal student loans are not absolved by bankruptcy. The only way for you to get out from under is to increase your income. Look for a higher paying job and possibly another temporary part time job. (I know that you are working 9 shifts per week already). |

start by going to the job center and applying for incapacity benefit if your ill and cant work.
your local council should also be able to offer you accommodation as your homeless. if you go to the citizens advice bureau, and explain your circumstances, i'm sure they'll be able to direct you in the right path.
don't leave it just be, as they will become bigger and more stress full.
