How did he transfer his debt to your credit card without your permission and signature? Get in touch with your credit card company and find out how this happened. If he forged your signature? You can get him for fraud and the credit card company can not hold you liable. |

Please go and tell a proffessional about this. Maybe the citizens advice or a solicitor. I hope it all gets sorted out.

Go talk to the MANAGER of the bank that handles your accounts. Explain that your husband has left you and find out if your credit card was held jointly.
He cant legally transfer debt to a card in your name only in most states.
Then get legal advice from a divorce lawyer. |

I had same problem, still paying back the debt now 2 yrs later. If it was transfered to your card, you agreed to it. You could try small claims court, but you would need to decide if it was worth it. Try citizens advice, they can talk you through the best route. You can find their number local to you at www.yell.com. Good luck x |

Speaking as a nationally known expert on credit, credit scores and lending (book, radio shows, newspaper columns, etc.)...
If you hold the credit card(s) he transferred to "jointly" with him, then I am sorry, you are legally responsible for the debt. Perhaps if you contact the creditor and explain, maybe they'll do something nice. I would not count on that.
Hopefully you have filled out a police report.
If he took cash from your family, ask the police about that.
If he has a job, you can sue him--even in small claims court, which is fast, cheap, and no lawyer needed like Judge Judy--and ask for a money judgment against him and make certain to ask for an Order of Wage Garnishment and get that to his employer. They can get 25% of his pay check sent to you until the money judgment is paid.
Good luck... |

i would call the police to get a id number then ask them what you could do.then call all your credit card places and have them cancelled incase he has more of them with him.if he;s that deviant to leave you like that and mooch money from your family's telling what he might have dine,,press charges on his as$ if possible..your lucky to be rid of a creep like that .now you can get him charged with a crime and don;t ever take him back'he doesn;t deserve another chance....good luck and god be with you always.. |

I'm afraid there is nothing you can do. In the first place, why did you allow him to transfer the debts to you? Speak with the credit card company and find out if there's anyway they can assist you. |
