You better notify your bank & the Social Security Administration too, & ask them what you need to do. By the way, you should NEVER EVER EVER carry your social security cards in your purse or wallet. Also, have you filed a report w/ the police? They probably have some good advice. |

I like Gamer No Funs answer, it is so correct. Do all of the things below, and as he says " Don't Panic ". They will put a Fraud alert on your account immediately. The bank will stop your credit cards/debit cards, and by calling your bank they can put a stop on your checks also. Go straight to the Police station now, not tommorow, and get a Police report. Lastly go to the SS, and talk to someone there, to see what the next step would be. |

After that call the Bank where the Check Books came from and report what has happened, You can call the Social Security office and ask there what you should do, they have had experience with others that this has happened to, and will be abale to help you. By all means keep as calm as you can under the circumstances, and work things out, by following through on what they say that needs to be done. |

contact your bank & credit card company to cancel all cards & close her checking account to avoid potential loss. Call all 3 credit bureaus & have them add an alert to her reports saying her purse & id was stolen & NOT to open any new credit,loans ect. without contacting her FIRST. |

u can also lock yer accts or transfer yer $$$ 2 a new 1. Additionally, alert the 3 main credit comps that yer purse was stolen & thet if anything turns up, it aint yers. tell them what IS yers & contact yer creditors so no more charges come 2 u. additionally, if u have a cell ph, call the comp & have them stop yer acct. U can also offer up a reward 4 its return. |
