Phoenix | My sister is using her 2 year old daughter's information to get credit cards, how can i stop this? |
Well, as shameful as this may be, my sister has a two year old daughter and i just recently found out that she's been using her daughters information to open accounts such as credit cards, cell phones etc. What should i do to help my niece out? |

She is ruining your niece's credit. Tell her to stop or you will report her to the credit card company. If she doesn't stop, report her. She will not be okay. There is a reason she is using your niece's info, it's because your sister has already trashed hers and she will trash your niece's. |

Call the cops and tell them this, call the credit bueral.
That is terrible. Its bad enough strangers using others info to get credit cards, etc |

I think if you report it to the police or credit agency that they handle it and can arrest your sister for fraud and stolen identity. But I could totally be wrong. |

Stop her by all means. This is fraud and should be tackled heavy handedly. |

How could she manage to get credit cards on a two year old's name..This is simply fraud. Ask her to stop this instantly, otherwise show her the way to magnificient police hospitality for years in cell. |

First follow Ketel One Up's instructions. Then try to find out which credit card companies she has accounts with. You can write to them and provide documentation to show the age of your niece. It sounds like the police would need to be involved to protect the niece. Once someone else was her legal guardian, they would be able to dispute every last cent of credit card purchases as fraud. Even then, when she is old enough to speak, she would be able to do it herself. Sounds like your sister is crazy. |

Unfortunately, this is a VERY common thing for people with bad credit and financial problems...Contact the people at these agencies, they should be able to correct this:
www.equifax.com
www.transunion.com
www.experian.com
If there is anything that can be done, these folks should be able to help you or at least get you started in the right direction. |

Your neice may have credit problems and not be able to get a college scholarship or a multitude of other problems. Report the credit fraud. |

Wow, that is almost evil. Talk to your mom about it. |

report her to the irs |

Drop a line to the three credit monitoring bureaus with your niece's date of birth and that you believe someone (don't have to say whom) is attempting to fraudulently request credit in her name... With a block in place, your sister would pretty much be writing her own felony arrest warrant when she next pursues a credit card in the poor girl's name. Mean, but effective. |

just after u tell her "light's out", punch her in the face!!! |

All the previous answers are good, but also consider that if your sister is caught, she's going to jail and she is going to lose her child.
This is something that will take years to sort out, and your niece's credit may be damaged for years before she even gets *her* credit started. |

Call the police and report it as a crime. You will probably have to follow up to ensure somethong is being done. |
