I'm sorry for what has happened to your sister but the same hapened to my daughter. The difference being that I taught my daughters, as my mother taught me and her mother taught her, to always keep a small amount of the housekeeping money behind and hide it in case of emergencys like this one. Keep it in the house or have a savings account that no-one knows of. I'm divorced but I still have my rainy day account 'just in case' something happens! Take note, young people!! |

Tell her to go to the local benefits office. Explain her situation. She should get some sort of help with the immediate need and also for the future. She will need lots of support, emotional and physical. Sounds like you are there for her. Lucky girl. |

If she goes to the DSS she should be able to get a small loan to tide her over for next couple of days.
She should also now start claiming benefits that she may be entitled to asap and also getting him to pay maintenance. If he refuses then she will have to take him to court.
I hope she gets sorted out soon. |

firstly your sister would need to be claiming some kind of benifit, income support or job seekers allowance, then she could makjie a claim for a crisis loan, however the benifits agency can often be really tight regarding crisis loans, it may be worth her time calling the social services and asking for their advice, they have all sorts of funds they can allocate for situations such as your sisters, and they would probably be able to offer the best support and advice on how to deal with such a difficult situation, they could also put her in touch with the salvation army who offer food parcels, anyway good luck! |

Tell her to get Finacial Aid....you can get a card and free money, and help with rent, food, and other stuff, and tell her to sign up for WIC....i had to do it. She can do it too. |

Partner do you mean husband, or boyfriend? No one should ever have kids without being married. You leave so many loose ends.I'm sure there is some community help she can get. Food stamps, section 8, free clothing. I wouldn't suggest getting a loan, I suggest she find a pro-bono lawyer to help, Call child protective services/welfare and see what help can be given to her for free. Good Luck ("I've been through that myself") I'll never get married again! |
