Some creditors will sue you for not paying a debt. If that happens, and they get a judgment, it will stay on your credit for 10 years, but the judgment is renewable every 10 years. Depending on the amount, some creditors will pay to keep it out there forever.
If there is no judgment, a charged-off account will stay on your file for 6 years and 9 months from the "date of delinquency." If the creditor sells the debt, it can stay with you (under different collection agencies) for many years. |

7 years, your credit record is cleared after that length of time. I had some bad credit a long time ago, I actually took the time to find out what they were a couple of years after it happened, and pay some off, which really surprised them! But I know there were some that I couldn't get in touch with creditors, and I got a bank account and kept things good for a few more years until it had been about 7, and now I have credit cards and a good credit score. |

After seven they fall off, but you have to remind them. Do a dispute telling them the statue of limitations is over...make sure its over seven years.

Experian.co.uk are currently running a 30 day free trial, giving you full access to your credit report. You can also query anything on the report and ask them to remove information which is`nt accurate.
Well worth looking into - I did and discovered that someone was using one of my credit cards from my old address! |

As long as the company keeps reporting it will stay on your credit report. Either they stop reporting or you pay it off then it gets removed from your report. |
