You CAN get a decent car loan, even with bad or no credit. I've done it, but you'll have to look around. Shop around with lenders who specialize in bad credit car loans.
There are usually some nationally based car loan companies who specialize in bad and no credit car loans who advertise on the page linked below...

I would hardly call one default on your file bad credit. But, then again you did not say what the default is.If you don't think you can get a loan on your own then try getting a co-signer. |

I checked in with "peter williams" <longterm.loan@yahoo.com regarding a loan as was suggested here on this forum. I spent an hour on the computer and on the phone with him eventually. He sounded like he was from Nigeria or another African nation. Quoted me three rates, then one came in so low I could hardly believe it. Then the catch by phone was to send them a certain amount of money in order to get a loan. His excuse was they have been scammed before. Hmmmmmmm! I wonder if this might be a scam too????
I would steer clear of this loan operation. Something is not right.
I would suggest www.prosper.com to obtain a loan. I have used them and they are very good.
