This is probably not a scam, as most lenders will want some security that you will pay the loan back. Just simply giving you $2000 if you have not so good credit probably wont happen without some type of collateral. Most will offer a secured credit card. Deposit $1000 in their bank, and they will give you a $1000 credit card limit.

It's a long shot, but there is a source of micro lending, called KIVA, available directly from individuals willing to make personal loans. Be very careful and have low expectations as you don't seem to be able to offer much in the way of security. Still, it's worth a try.

This is absolutly a scam! Stay far away. Be aware of people that ask for money to get a loan. I had a friend go through one and she never got her money but they got hers!!! Try a local credit union as they are more fair when it comes to bad credit personal loans...

These are scams. Avoid them. It is illegal for any lender to ask for upfront money before you receive a loan. That is a big red flag when they ask you for money. Do not get involved with them. They will take your money and you will never hear from them again. See the Federal Trade Commission's and Crimes of Persuasion's websites for more info. on loan scams.
