Ask them to send you confirmation of the debt.
9 times out of ten this will back them off for several weeks.
3 out of 5 times it will back them off for good.
However, truely the best way the get them gone is to contact the credit bureaus and get them to ask for confirmation of the debt. The creditor will have 30 days to respond to the bureaus. If they miss that cut off, the debt is legally forgiven.
This is something you can do, or you can hire people to do it for you. |

Know your rights. Try looking for the "Fair Credit Collection Practices Act". Record all your conversations with them using the memo button on your answering machine (and let them know you're recording).
They should do enough to themselves. Keep all records by the way. They will end up selling the debt later on and it will come back again |

Google them to get the address. Your wife should send them a certified, return receipt requested, cease and desist letter telling them to never contact her or you again. They have to stop or you can sue them.
The debt is undoubtedly beyond the Statute of Limitations (SOL), the timeframe to bring lawsuit and it is beyond the reporting period. If it show up on your wife's credit report, dispute it as being beyond the reporting period.
Allied is one of thse zombie debt companies and they don't always play by the rules. |

Collection agencies are the hardest thing to get rid of and for them to stop calling. The best way is to be civil with the person from the agency and find out through them what is the best way for you to end the calls. It could be very simply but unfortunately that will be your best option for now because they won't stop calling unless you come to a resolution. |

No, however, because it is a cell phone and you pay by the call you can tell them that they are running up you cell phone bill and do not call it any more. They can not cause you to incur added cell phone charges. However, the debt will not go away just because they are not calling you any more. They could choose to take legal action which could result in garnishment of your wages. Your wife is still responsible for the debt. When she took out the credit card she signed an agreement / contract to pay. (They can also freeze your bank account.) |

That's a tough one. I would definitely try filing a police report and see where that goes.
You can scare the crap out the kid (Ivan) by letting him know that you have already reported his name and Allied to the do not call list. Lie and tell him that they told you that Allied will be fined $1000 every time they call your cell phone. This works for true unsolicited phone calls but since this is your wife's old debt I am not sure of the laws. You can file a complaint here:
https://www.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx
If you want more specific detailed information on how to remove the collection item from your wife's credit report please read my site here:
http://www.jonjong.com/1.html
I specify how to go about removing collection accounts. You don't have to pay anyone to do this. You can do it on your own and more effectively than any self-proclaimed credit repair company! |
