Often times Sears will give you a card but keep in ,mind they have a really high interest rate and try not to be late on a payment. It is So easy to run one up and out of control and then just pay what they want a small amount to which you never catch up. If they should give you one and as I have read you do have a little one it would be so easy to buy her all sorts of neat things. Great but a big kick in the butt at the end of the month. A few bucks is fine but before you know it you owe more than what you can pay off. So you just pay the bear mini, and you never pay it off. You have to set some limits, and it is so hard to keep them, here it is May and soon Christmas. You want her and your other half to have a nice big Christmas and there is goes, birthdays, your anniversary, car repairs, and sears also has the Discover card to which can be used in many places. Yes you credit score will go up but do not pay and you are hurt big time. Good Luck and congrats on the baby:)

you can take out a loan for like a few hundred or something, and dont spend it. pay it back with the same money, dont be late on payments and that will build your credit. thats how I did it.

Years ago Citi Bank would literally set up on college campuses and give away $500 credit limit cards if you were a junior/senior. Be careful because someone who gives a card to someone with no credit history come with a high interest rate. Those 'starter' cards should be closed once replaced with ones that have lower rates. If you have a checking account, and are in good standing at the bank, they may issue you a credit card.

Get a credit card, use it a few times a month, and pay it off every other time, and 3/4 the other half. Every two months call the credit card company and ask for credit line increase. Correct errors on your credit report. Your report must prove to the lender that he will get his money back.

Some retail and gasoline credit cards are not revolving (do not carry a monthly balance) and sometimes are easier to obtain than regular cards. Over time they can help establish history. If you don't have a checking account, open one. You have very little credibility with lenders if you don't have at least a checking account and preferably a savings account as well. Just as importantly, be sure not to overdraw your bank account. Bouncing checks sends a signal to potential lenders that you can't manage your daily finances and are therefore not a good credit risk.

With careful planning and a little knowledge of how lenders issue credit, you CAN establish a credit history fairly painlessly. There are many businesses waiting in line to take advantage of you by charging exorbitant fees or interest rates, so be careful out there.

If you want to build good credit, and this is what a lot of teens end up doing, take on a small bill or two; like get a cell phone in your name, or if you still live with your parents or you share your place or whatever with someone else, offer to pay the water or the electricity bill. It's the simplest way to build your credit, then you can get a credit card. =) Hope this helps

please answer my question too @

Reality Check

If you don't have the money to put down a deposit, you might want to reconsider getting a credit card. You do realize that the credit has to be paid back, right? In regular intervals, each month, on time. If you start missing payments, or just stop paying all together, your credit will end up much worse than it currently is now....and you will have an even harder time getting credit extended to you.

If you NEED a credit card, get a 'secured' credit card. You put the money on the card as a 'deposit', and then use the card and it pulls the $$ from what you put into it. They charge an interest rate (as any other credit card would). Some charge other fees as well. However the best secured card I have found dollar-for-dollar is the one from Bank Of America.

You can put anywhere from $300 - $10,000 on it. It reports monthly to the credit bureaus, just as any other credit card would. This card will help discipline your spending habits, because you will be spending REAL money, which is good...because it's not something you have to pay back.

Best of luck with whatever choice you make. Hopefully it's the smart one!

Hi,

Best way to have a credit card is to either apply for a credit card, related to shopping, entainment or travelling. you can apply for american express credit cards, usually many cards have good APR, low or first year fee free cards. you can get more information on http://www.moneybulls.com/index_files/creditcards.htm

once you see cards, surf through the website and you would find a suitable card for you. Also, just apply, may be you get lucky this time, because credit card companies analyzie risk ramdomly.

regards.

pay your balance in full at the end of each 30 day period...dont miss payments, and dont exceed your credit limit.
you can also go to a credit repair person, and have them buy the dept, and remove it from your credit, that is if your credit is already bad...
