could be - they'll usually issue a check within a month. (they don't want to pay you interest, of course)
Mr D
It means you overpaid.

Credit is not like a normal bill where overpayment gives you a negative balance owing. On a credit card bill, the balance is the credit you have left, so if your balance is negative, then the credit you have left is also negative. This is bad for your credit rating, pay them right away!

It usually means you have overpaid - but be sure to check your statement to be sure that there isn't an item that hasn't posted yet before you use the credit.
mysty_2u
That doesn't mean you overpaid...that means you over spent! You went OVER your limit by $200. The best way to fix this is by paying at least $200 back to the credit card company so you are not in a negative balance.
lisette1908
You have a credit for $200 bucks...
You can take me out to dinner and a show... LOL

it means they owe you $200 wow that doesn't happen often! to bad you can't charge them ridiculous interest like they do to us!
Bethany
It means that you either overpaid or else you returned something and it was credited back to your card giving you a negative balance. It just means that next time you charge something the credit company will first draw from the -$200 before it figures out how much you need to pay.
†Gracie â€
Yes, you overpaid so now you have $200.00 worth of credit.
Oldenmead
No. It means you owe $200.
If you were $200 in credit the balance would show +200
