Trying for # 1!!!!! | No Credit history and looking for a credit card to build credit history!! |
I have been searching for a credit card for a long time now that would let me build my credit. But the problem is that I have no credit history(unestablished). My husband and I have decided that a credit card would be the best way to build my credit!!! Has anyone else had this problem? What card did you apply for that approved you? I am looking for a card with a low apr and a low to no annual free. Thanx for all your help!! |

bank of america security card. It is a good credit card for you to begin without any credit history. It's no annual fee, but you need to pay 90 or 99 dollars (i dont remember the exactly number) for security reason when you apply for it. After one year, the bank will pay you back for the 90 dollars and your credit is built. The credit line may be not very high, but it will increase after one year. Also, you can apply for anyother credit card after you have established your credit. Hope this will help~~~^_^ |

Apply for one through your bank.Pay it off in full every month, in order to establish credit. Since you will be paying it off in full, the APR won't matter. In a year you can switch to any card that you want. |

Orchard Bank or Household Bank will give credit cards to people with little, no or bad credit. But it is doubtful you'll find one with a low APR and low or no annual fee. If you have no credit, it will be high to start with, but you'll be able to get it down by making payments on time. |

I found the best way to build credit history is to establish an account at a jewelry store. Go in with a small down payment and purchase a watch or something else. Pay down half and finance half. Make the payments on time and it will show up on your credit report.
After you have a bit of credit history, then go for a credit card. |

Since you have no credit history you'll probably need to start with a secured card. You send money to a savings account and borrow against that. Your money is returned with interest after your card is upgraded, usually after 6 months to a year of on time payments. there is an annual fee so look around and your question about a low APR has me puzzled. You're looking to build credit not get into debt right? so pay it in full every time and the APR won't make a difference. I used Orchard Bank as another mentioned. Their fees were low, 36/year and they report to all 3 credit bureaus monthly. That is important. |

An easy place to get credit is a department store or a gas station. They usually have credit cards that are easy to establish your credit.
If you are looking for a credit card with a low apr, it sounds like you are in need of money, avoid going into debt with a credit card! |

I started a credit history first by opening a checking account, then applying for a department store card (JCPenney I think). And after almost a year of establishing a history with them I was able to get a Visa. |

Just apply. One of them will accept you, Im sure. Credit Card companies want you to have a card, so they can collect big interests rates, when you dont pay the full balance each month. I never had a problem getting one. Even my first one. ( Citibank)
But to get a credit rating, charge something minor and pay the balance in full, at the end of the billing cycle. No Interest .
They generally give you a very low credit line to start. Once they see you can be trusted to pay, they will increase it . |

The easiest way would be a secured credit card....you deposit in amount in the bank and they base your credit limit on that balance...Not sure what companies offer that but you could check it out...Key Federal Savings Bank used to be one. |
