Your best bet is probably a 'student' credit card. Although there's also other types of credit cards designed for people with poor / no credit, you'll pay less fess with a student card. You can find a complete list here:

ot all possible and available college student credit cards are right for everyone. You should avoid one that charges an excessively high interest rate, unless you know for a fact that you will be paying it off in full at the end of the month. Keep in mind that the credit card issuers are taking a bit of a chance on you, since you probably have little or no credit history established, and therefore the interest rate on virtually ANY credit card you are approved for is going to be higher than "usual", where "usual" would be the rate that perhaps your parents would get approved for, since they already have a credit history established.
Most college students today need a car, and many of them make the mistake of tying up all of their credit cards in paying for a car. This is probably the worst possible option for buying a car, since the interest rates will be astronomical that way. It would be much better to get a separate car loan and keep your credit cards free up for things you really need. Being a college student it should be pretty easy for you.As you start to attend college they should start sending you more offers then you'll ever need for credit.just remember not to over do it with them being a student you'll have enough debt without adding to it. |
