Nope, when you close a credit card account it takes away from your credit. If you have open cards that are in good standing it looks good on your credit report, but when you close one you will lose credit. Just keep the cards open and don't use them. |

NO!!!!!!!!!! The longer you have a credit card in your possession that shows on your credit bureau, the better your score gets! Even if you don't carry a balance on it, you bureau shows the date it was opened. If your bureau shows a card that has been in your possession for 5 years with no missed payments, it looks better than a card that was opened for 1 year, now closed with no payments.
Keep your cards! Your beacon score will benefit :) |

It will hurt your credit score to close them so if that's important to you, leave them open. Oh the other hand if you really don't want to use them but aren't sure that you have the willpower not to use them, it may be in your best interests to close them. |

If you close them that would likely hurt your credit somewhat too, but if you keep them and hide them well or shred them so you cant use them, that should not hurt your credit. |

It will lower your credit score. The more unused credit you have the higher your score will be. You can cut them up so you won't be tempted to use them but don't close the accounts. Congratulations on getting your cards paid off! |

No,
It doesn’t matter if you made a few late payments..
All activity will still show up on your credit history report..
And you are responsible now, right?
How will they know that if you close them out?
Here's a little how credit works, you only get credit if you were to charge something, then pay it off.
If you close the accounts there would be no way to redeem yourself of that credit.
To a credit union such as Experian, just because you pay off what you owe, it won’t matter, all the credit union cares about is if you are paying on time and if you are paying every month.
If you pay more than the minimum balance this is good in their eyes...
If you never reach your spending limit, this is also good in their eyes..
You have to show them that you can be responsible...
That you can manage you money..
I know cutting the cards up may seem like a good Idea now, and your right it is an easy way out..
But how will you raise your credit score?
Sure you messed up in the past but what about now?
If you cut them you will run into the problem of no other place wanting to give you credit, because of your past history..
Not only that but, now a days when you go and apply for a job, the job will request a credit check, and if you have bad credit this may keep you from getting the job...
Just keep it open maybe charge like 20 bucks a month on the cards pay them off the next month. And keep following the same pattern.. And you don’t necessarily have to do it every month. You could do it like every other month and so on and so on..
If you do this, I guarantee you will boost your credit score..
Also, in the long run you can keep disputing any late payments that might have occurred in the past online.
u just have to go to their sites...
Just please keep them open..
Take the first time around as a learning experience..
A lot of people don’t know how the credit game works, but believe me it is rather important..
Just this time be careful, and only charge when you really need it..
Just please, if you leave the credit cards open do not go over, or reach your spending limit...This will hurt your credit score.. |

Once the cards are open the affect is done to your credit. Closing them now would only increase your debt ratio and shorten you credit history. Just avoid opening so many store cards in the future. |

Never Never close accounts that are in good standing!!!!!!! This will really hurt your credit score. It will show that you have no credit rather than credit that is all paid. You don't want to lose your debt ratio which will be a great score since you have paid them all off.
The only ones I would say to close are any that are costing you money to keep open.
If you have anymore questions check out myfico.com it is a forum where people give great advise on credit situations.
People often get the misconception that closing will improve your credit but it actually hurts it. |

I would not close all of the accounts at once as this would lower your credit score. It is a good idea to keep atleast 3 open trade lines.
If you are worried about using a particular card, cut it up, then close the account later when you have established a new account. It is a good idea to make sure there are no yearly fees or inactivity charges associated with not using those cards. |

Of course, credit cards get you introuble unless you use them for emergency. Like not having food to eat, ect...... |
|

Rick
 |
Absolutely, if you are not planning on using them again, you do not want miscellaneous charges on them. |
|

Try and keep at least three lines of credit open. The credit cards you listed are not good ones...being that the APR is probably more than 20%. Get 1 Visa/Mastercard with a low APR that you could anywhere incase of an emergancy. |

Yes, cut them up and close the accounts |
|

 |
yes absolutely. otherwise if you just don't use them they might charge you an annual fee. they can even change things about your account to include annual fees even if they didn't have them to begin with. plus, the more cards floating around the more likelyhood of identity theft or fraud. |

depends on you i would say yes only because need to pay with the money you have on you at the moment of purchase it will show you more responsibility ......................
Good luck |
